To sever your ties with Hell (Closest to: Hell) you have to rescue a certain soul that is not named.
The accompanying text puts extra emphasis on that soul’s importance, as though it’s central to the entire affair.
Whose soul do you think that is?
I don’t think it’s some famous historical person, just someone your character cares about very much. Who that could be is up to you to imagine!
It means you still have personal ties that you’re not willing to sacrifice in order to align with Hell. The Devils don’t like that - endgame Hell-related content (especially some storylets in TLU city) makes it pretty obvious they have no respect for any human ties and their idea of a perfect world is one where nobody cares for any one person more than for the community (think beehive).

I used to see something about my Aunt ('s soul?) being held in the Brass Embassy, but lately I haven’t seen this card. Maybe it’s related to that?
