Share about weirdly rare Connected Cards

Something I’ve realized over my several years of playing is that I almost never draw the Urchin connected card. The difference in my renown between them and the other factions is honestly laughable, and now it doesn’t help that I semi-regularly need Urchin favors to run my orphanage. Why are they avoiding me, what have I done.

Anyone else have a faction or factions that will just refuse to show up in their deck for reasons unknown?

I’ve also noticed that about the Urchins. It’s odd, isn’t it?

Eh. My opinion is that it’s all dependent on the whims and/or mood of the RNGod. For the better half of last year, I was in the same spot as you with Urchins. Then for the earlier months of this year, there appears to have been an exodus of the few Tomb-Colonists in the version of London my character lives in. Now it’s the Rubberies who apparently have issues with me.

It seems it’s always with the factions with very few other sources of favours. Maybe it’s all in our head.

It can be really streaky due to luck, no question.

I have also seen some people on here who aren’t aware of what you can do to adjust the odds. As an example, I read a post on here earlier this month about someone holding on to a few mood cards to save them for later. I don’t think I’ve ever done that with more than one mood card. Since you never draw cards already in hand, every standard frequency card you don’t want to play and hold on to improves the chance that the next card you draw will be one you do want to play. Holding on to infrequent and rare cards, like dreams or moods, does less to improve the odds of the next draw. I’d rather get favours, so unless I have a specific plan for a mood card I never hold on to one for long.

Welcome to the fickle RNG gods of this game. Where you might succeed in a 10% chance challenge, and still fail a 95% challenge.

I haven’t noticed particular streakiness with the connected cards but admittedly its also been a while since I’ve badly needed one in specific vs just trying to generally fill my favor stocks up to make the travel to Jericho worthwhile. If it’s really dire though, one can always swap ones connected: pet to the appropriate faction for an extra source of favors (and with urchins specifically, keeping some laudanum and a winsome dispossessed urchin on hand will give you a third card opportunity)

I didn’t realize this but woah you’re right about the first point. I disagree about it being mental though I think the rng is just sapient and likes to screw with people. I have no source of Tomb Colony favors outside of the Connected Cards, for example, and those show up at least twice as often as Urchin cards T_T

Great point about keeping cards in my hand! I do that occasionally but I didn’t think to use it for that purpose.

.. but what do I use my eternally saved and cherished mood-cards for to make it feel worthwhile?
