September ES: Where You and I Must Go

Thanks for the clarification … I just wanted to be sure that parts two and three will be available by then as well. I’ve played through the &quotstarter&quot sequence at the House of Chimes and spoke with the Bluejacket; will that retain part two of the story past the end of October?

Sorry for the novice questions, but, well … I’m an FL novice. (Although I have played a lot of Sunless Sea prior to this.) Thank you again.

Most stories say &quotYou’ve unlocked This Story’s Name to play etc&quot when you do the intro sequence stuff, so you should have it all good for whenever you want to play. Being that the hub is new I’m not sure how it’ll look when the stories are played after the season. Maybe it’ll bring the hub back if the stories are bought?

Either way there’s no harm playing it now rather than waiting, so far the two stories can be easily played out of order as they don’t connect beyond being requests of the Bluejacket. Events and characters of the first aren’t referenced in the second.

Much to my deep regret. I want my Emaciated Survivor! :P

The next one’s crashed on a… a… a… fire-berg!
So.

I thought that was exaggeration, I did.

(Dunno if it’s appropriate to ask it here about Sunless Sea):
Is Robert Harris the travel-writer in the new content of Sunless Sea?

I suspect finishing the Travel-Writer’s storyline will answer your question.

Took a while, but managed to start this ES before they pile up even more!
Now, if I Break down the Captain’s Door will this end my trip on the berg automatically or I may spend more and more days on it?
Just interested in RP and get my Days on the Lifeberg high as possible. And does this quality get erased after I leave it? Who knows what my character will be capable of to do after spending to much time on a living iceberg… :D

Breaking down the captains door will not force you off the lifeberg. You need to make the decision to leave with your ship.

If you stay too long, terrible things might happen. You’ll get a warning, though.

Cold, very cold! Where? Who? How? What…?
I must say that it’s an amazing experience! If it’s oki, can anyone PM with their results if they opened the door, but stayed to much on the berg as well? I really wonder if there were different outcomes!

I just enhanced myself, lol, and this was available for “free” and i think had the little star, so i dove in. Really rewarding! Loved the writing, the grinding didn’t seem too bad to me, yeah the repetition of climbing up was a little dull but as someone else said, that really enhanced the feeling of danger, even doom. I typically take the softer choices (it’s unnerving how often you have to be a bad person to get ahead in FL, lol) except Harris was so fucking unpleasant in the teashop I decided to get him. That will teach you to threaten pacifists, buddy. I didn’t stay for fourteen days, took care of the crew, had no idea what the Lukes or Flukes were, and didn’t realize until LATER what the Engineer was doing. I missed the “easter egg”, fine by me.* I was in it for the journey and characters and wonderfully disquieting atmosphere. Someone said earlier it reminded them of Lovecraft and i can see that, but it was also very redolent of Poe and i loved the crew quoting the ballad. Kudos to the FB crew for making the story intelligible even to someone who didn’t care a whole lot about puzzling out background lore.

I have to say if my big focus was on how much each story or plotline cost me down to calculating the echos per shiny thing I’d get bored/frustrated so fast. I think of the rewards from the ES’s more as mementos and it’s annoying not to get one, but it doesn’t make the story worthless for me if i don’t get a very pricey one. But obviously that’s not how a lot of people play!

*From what i managed to gather it wouldn’t really have made sense to me anyway.
