I can’t find an appropriate Singing Mandrake thread, so I’ll ask here. If anyone has a certain calling card to spare for a novice seeker by the name of ZirconSea, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am a mere tadpole starting with SMEN 4 and am currently grinding for a yacht. I have heard that at some point of SMEN that you need to give up a boat though. Can anyone tell me at what level of SMEN this happens because I could not find that information elsewhere.
The end. When you go North, the first thing that happens upon getting there is you losing your ship. Should you be choosing a proper ending this won’t matter, should you be going for turning back and the Seven Fold Knock though I guess you’ll need to get a new ship
Should you be doing that you’re crazy. You’re also already demonstrating the kind of tenacity and endurance that make reacquisition of a yacht something to take in stride.

While you have to give up a lot of major items for Winking Isle, turns out you can dump them into Fidgeting Writer and such beforehand! The moment I get back from the Avid Horizon, I’ll have ten Lenses of Black Glass ready to turn into Comprehensive Bribes.
Plus don’t be silly, getting rid of the vast majority of your character’s possessions for +1 BDR is obviously the optimal choice. At least when going for Paramount Presence later. (And losing my ship means I’ll have an excuse to upgrade from Zub to Yacht too.)

I plan to get a knock right after getting a cider, since I’ll have liquidated the vast majority of my possessions anyway.
The thing I’ll have to get rid of that raised my eyebrow most was, of all things, the diamond ring. I’ll be -2 persuasive for a while :|
Question: Is it possible to receive the Torment destiny at Hallowmas or Christmas if you already have a destiny?
not without paying fate
also, have done some back-of-the-envelope calculations (and a look at how long it takes people who climb stairs to climb seven thousand stairs) and my best guess is, yer average Seeker who’s not in the best shape, between eating a lot of Rubbery Lumps/starving, will take something like 8-12 hours to lose no candle.
I mean, I appreciated the Lighthouse text a lot before, but now I really do. Our poor characters.

Oddly enough they find either the strength to shave an hour off that and make it in 7, are too exhausted and do it in many times that at 77 hours, or they’re so exhausted it takes just over thirty two days. But since time is nothing in dreams, let alone the Neath itself, it’s probably all these at once
Good time of the day, delicious fellow Seekers!
It happened so I got one wretched fur ball at my possession, whom I no longer need. He did his part, and I appreciate his help, but are there any volunteers to take the Starvelling Cat off my hands? The creature has become unbearable!

I’ll take the little b***er of yer hands.
Thank you kindly. I’m sure I won’t regret this…
So quiet. where is the hunger? where is the question?
I’ve just reached SMEN 14, its time to go stabbing. any advice on quickly dealing with the repeated deadness? would it work to mooch some cider sips in preparation?
Unfortunately, sips of Cider only help when you’re alive. The only way to deal with being dead is to use lots of actions.

Deadness is the easiest to get out of. The deck contains a lot of effective menace-reducing red-bordered cards, so you first play chess with the skeleton, then use the red cards while at 0 actions.
I have been looking through the wiki figuring out how I will go along my journey, and a question I have not been able to answer is this: is the sun beneath the sea an important part of the ending?
I am basically seeking advice as to whether I should obtain it.
You need it to ask “who is salt?”
One and a half years, seven Fluke-Cores, and one Cider later… I finally have one additional point of BDR.
