Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place. I’m just looking for some clarification.
I’ve been playing for about 9 years on the same email address which was verified when I started. I’ve recently found that I’m unable to send or receive social actions and, when checking the reason am informed I have to verify my email. I suspect the issue occurred sometime in mid-January as it was working at Christmas, and I received an unrequested email thanking me for unsubscribing from the mailing list on the 16th (at the time I assumed this was spam).
I’ve attempted to reauthenticate the email on my Account tab, but doing so merely creates an error message claiming that emails sent to my address have returned as undeliverable in the past. Despite this, when I toggle my other accounts connected for authentication, I still receive an automated email from failbetter indicating I have done so.
I’ve submitted a bug report about a week ago, but I’m a little nervous to get this sorted quickly. Obviously, I’m not sure whether an account on an unauthenticated email continues to exist or whether this indicates that my account might get locked/deleted. As I’ve spent around a decade on it, I’m keen to resolve this quickly.
Has anyone else had similar problems or managed to resolve them? If not, does changing the email linked to the account affect the username? (I don’t have a spare email, other than those I use for my alts, but obviously those sort of things are relatively quick to create).
