I finally have a character on the Seeking road. Since my knowledge of the subject mostly comes from McGyver fanfiction, i’d really appreciate some advice from experienced seekers.
First matter of business: I’m in no particular hurry to go eat myself down a flooded shaft, and would like to experience a fair amount of game content before crippling my ability to access it. So i guess, my question is this:
What’s a reasonable bucket list, of things to accomplish before Blackening my Mind?

To answer your question, you should probably get to the places/quests you’re unlikely to visit with your alts; you can get one Ambition per character, for example, so unless you were planning to play the same Ambition in the same way with another alt, getting to the end of that would be a pretty important point. Apart from those, however, I don’t recall places or massive amounts of content that are mutually exclusive with each other?
Completing the Seeking road will lead your character to a permanent end.
It took me approximately a year and a half to finish Seeking.
Use the wiki. Seriously, you can get into some straight-up unfair situations if you do not have some knowledge in advance. There’s a guide in the wiki for this exact reason.
A consequence of Seeking is that you can never sell your soul again unless you play the fate story Flint.
DO NOT sell your soul at Hallowmas.
You can turn back and give up at the last second to receive the best Dreaded weapon in the game (and not put an end to your character).
The Ambition: Bag a Legend! has the option of using said weapon in the late-game. This was an awesome moment for me.
If you do turn back, some people on the forums can link you to the events that happen if you had chosen the permanent end option.
