Romance back in London

Hey everyone. Really enjoying the game, clocked up over 27 hours on it now. So freaking addictive. Anyway, I have a question.

Early on in my play through I got a sweetheart back in London. Then afterwards, I went on a long trip around the map and when I got back, received the message that she was &quotgone&quot. My question is, is there any other way to get another one or am I going to have to kill off my captain? I really don’t want to do that as I’ve just completed the First Curator story and got the Impeller. So far I’ve had the event pop up a few times but was only able to choose that I had forgotten her name. I was expecting to be able to get another one, seeing as it’s not very realistic for my captain to sit there brooding and refuse to move on, but it looks like I have completely ruined my chance at romance.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks. :)

If it’s romance you’re after, there are other characters who might be interested if you look. All the bright-eyed landsfolk back in London who are looking for a long-term relationship probably heard from the grapevine that you’re just another captain who goes out zailing and neglects their shorebound lovers :P

What, are my dashing good looks not enough to quash any rumours? :P

I’ve looked around, but can’t find any more “romance”. Had a fling with Maybe’s Rival, but the reason I care about the romance is that I read somewhere you can start a family with them and get them on your ship as a Scion and you can’t do that (that I know of) with Maybe’s Rival and I’m assuming any other officers.

That’s correct. If it’s a Scion you’re after, then I think your current captain may have lost their chance at it.
