Last few hours!
- new free outfit for EF (I hope non-exceptional receive an option for one more)
- maybe we’ll be able to dig into the mysteries at Horatia’s
- the Rat Market will close its doors (canvases) so grab that Gant Box and tell your horrors to The Shrivelled Celebrant.
Quite an interesting Monday and I’m sure I forgot about something!

For what it’s worth, I’ve been playing for only a little over a year, and I know almost none of the secrets of the universe!
If you are looking for fun gameplay mechanics, I quite enjoyed the latest exceptional story (the bloody wallpaper) in that regard! So they may be moving in that direction already
As for rewards, if every fate story promises new more advantageous awards then the last, I imagine we’ll quickly end up needing to escalate to absurd proportions, to the detriment of the overall gameplay. I think improving the Fate pitch for people who’ve never bought Fate would be a good thing but I am not sure this is the way
I think what’s missing is an actual application for Fallen London to make it less browser-y and closer to the concept of what Sunless Sea and Sunless Sky is.
I’ve been on and off this game since it was Echo Bazaar and the limitation on actions was always the main drawback.
Additionally I feel that it would be good to re-read some stories because I often forget what it started with. I think there was a feature like that somewhere or you can post things on your profile from the stories you like but for the most part it’s not very obvious. Many RPG games have a sort of a journal where you can reminisce on your whole path, at least in a small resume style like what Star Wars KOTOR, Planescape: Torment or the Witcher games etc. That would help a lot I think.
I don’t plan to spend money on fate because I’d rather get separate stories as dlc. That way it wouldn’t feel like wasted money. But I’d do that only by the time I run out of main free content.
FBG considered remaking Fallen London into pay-to-play game and discarded that idea. I think it was between SSea and SSkies, pretty long ago.
There is a journal build into the game. It was here since forever. Not particularly useful thought because it’s just a log of results, not separated by stories.

I don’t want an FL app, being able to easily play across devices and not download anything is great. But, I would like it if the journal was updated to be searchable, or if you could somehow search by storylet - as it is, unless I’m missing something, your only hope to find a particular bit of prose is to remember around when you saved it, skip to that part of the journal, and then just check everything you have from that time period.

One thing I terribly miss from the app was the soundtrack. It’s on par with Sunless Sea or Sunless Sky’s OST.
