Raising my watchful to 100

Hiya Folks! I’ve been trying to raise my Watchful quality, since I want to become a person of some importance and buy a boat!
I recently made a second account, and have been using it as my main one, since my first one wasn’t going in the direction (my character-wise) I want it to at the moment. I’m currently at level 59 for my Watchfulness!
I’ve been grinding what I can for the past few days, but I’m kind of impatient. If you know anything that will get my levels up fast, please share!

From my recent alt experience, certain factions’ favours allow you to trade five favours to boost one of your basic stats, including Watchful.

I never went to Ladybones, but I did some carousels in the University. That was how Watchful was raised.

If you are in a hurry and don’t want to wait for your Watchful to rise organically through playing the A Name in seven secret Alphabets storyline, I would recommend buying a Talkative Rattus Faber, getting your Watchful as low as possible and failing Seek out spy-holes while Spelunking in the Sunken Embassy (accessible from Moloch Street) over and over.

As a note: you could have a look what items you can afford that raise your Watchful, because the Ambitious Barrister checks for your total Watchful and not your base Watchful.

  1. Read the guide (Leveling (Guide) - Fallen London Wiki)
  2. Grab a training profession (works up to base stat 100).
  3. Find somebody to exchange letters that raise stats (social action, weekly activity)
  4. Find Patron (social action, weekly activity), preferably Paramount Presence.

Also, there is no point in abandoning characters. They all become universally capable Mary Sues in the end. And being impatient does not work in FL. Just for the reference, if you really know what you are doing and speedrun everything without paying real money, finishing all free content in the game will take at least half of the year.

The letter writing is a very good tip. I use it a lot to boost stats back up when I’ve gone and overstayed in the Nadir yet again.

ngl is was less so me abandoning the character bc of mary sue, and moreso me liking to get into the brain of who im playing and I stopped being able to do that lol
