Queries for Fate, Souls, and Achievements

Good Evening Everyone!

Recently, I bought Fate-locked stories I think worth trying. However, aside from those, I still do have questions. So I’ll ask them all into this single thread.

 1. This is my third time to celebrate Sackmas in Neath. One of those 12 days, I acquired the rare and precious Rat of Glory. However, are there any &quotreal&quot risk of sweeping my luminosity items? I still want to keep that Rat on my mantelpiece (well it looks nice).

 2. As I’ve said earlier, I recently bought Fate-locked stories. One of them is the soul trade. However, I can’t get past the Shepherd of Souls 1. I researched about it and it seems that it’s not the end of the story. I tried searching the London for any possible storylet. Does all those levels (from SoS 1 to 5) will come from opportunity card?

 3. Inconvenienced By Your Aunt. Another entry of my unfinished fate story list. How will I know if it’s the end?

 4. I’m planning to buy Flint, then unlock Flute street. But after that, I have no idea what to do next. I searched the internet and found a non-spoiler guide however, it’s extremely outdated (though still valuable). Are there any non-spoilers updated Fate-locked guide online?

 5. Are there any guide or walkthrough for Fate-locked stories?

 6. Is Flint bigger and longer than SMEN? How long will it take to finish the Flint?

 7. By using orphans on the court, how long will it take to save enough echoes for Cider?

 8. Is it harder (and longer) to save echoes for Cider than to build qualities for Paramount Presence?

 9. I tried to research it on my own, but it seems I couldn’t find the thread (if there’s any). Are there any open threads for those who wanted to seek help to being a Paramount Presence?

 10. Does anyone already had the closest to faction set to: The Masters of the Bazaar?
6. Is Flint bigger and longer than SMEN? How long will it take to finish the Flint?
I didn’t play the Flint, but it certainly is shorter (Seeking is really slow-paced at times, takes about a year).
7. By using orphans on the court, how long will it take to save enough echoes for Cider?
From what I’ve heard, about a year.
Upd: Got it wrong, sorry.

No, not at all. Flint is large and beautiful and fascinating, and more than double the usual ES length. However, it is still something that you can complete in a day. I don’t think you can finish it in one sitting, but it’s been a while and I could be wrong about that.

Precisely what sort of assistance are you looking for?

A year is waaaay too optimistic for a cider. At 2.2 echoes per action, it takes almost 1.5 years provide you spend every single action a day. This means sleeping for about 6.5 hours a day and not missing any actions due to holidays/long haul flights etc. Realistically, you are looking at 2 years of very committed grinding

 6. If I recall correctly: yes

 7. You will know if your Inconvenienced By Your Aunt has reached a certain level 12 - 13 - 14 depending on your last choice

 8. The Fate-stories haven’t been edited since they came out save for potentially some spelling or grammatical fixes, but a guide without spoiling doesn’t really exist sorry.

 9. You can ask other players in PM’s about it.

 10. I’ve heard up to 3 years with a minimum of 2 years of dedicated grinding, (forgot the starting capita)

 11. Yes, Paramount Presence can be done within a year if you have all the qualities prepared (eg: the money for shadowy, chess for watchful etc…) the Notability Grind (with enough BDR or a non-PoSI alt for Rat-funded weddings) can be done within a year easily.

 12. Yes, there should be some.

 13. Not that I know of.

Also: better to post these kinda questions in the Weekly Question thread ;)

So far as we know, there is no risk associated with it if you leave it alone. However …

Well, first of all, don’t use Orphans/Tigers for this, as that’s 2.22 EPA while being away from London for a long period of time, while Silken Thread Expeditions give you 2.27 EPA while staying in London (and thus access to even more profitable London cards).

A Cider costs 160,000 echoes. Assuming you want to raise this whole amount, and you play all 144 possible actions per day, this will take you ~489 days (less, if you take into account more profitable actions in London, including professional payments).

The Soul Trade relies heavily on cards. Don’t worry and wait for them to show up, they don’t take long.

The Aunt story finishes when you pick a job for her. I hope it isn’t spoilerish to say that the more profitable and fun by far is Mr Wines’s offer. I can PM you the difference if you want.

Flint is twice the lenght of the montly ES, so probably a day or two, depending on whether you are an exceptional friend. Make sure you have all kinds of wines with you when you begin your journey.

There are no guides for Fate Locked stories BUT if you find the separate thread for each story in the forums, you have a pretty complete walkthrough for all of them. There is also the thread titled Fate-Locked Content (or Fate-Locked stories).

Becoming a Paramount Presence is a lot about Making Waves. Make sure you fulfill the requirements detailed in the wiki, and start grinding!

For Cider: in my opinion, relying on the Orphan Grind too much ruins the game. When you go at the Tiger Court, all you can do is click the same button to exchange favor for items, for months on end. Back in London, you have cards, social interactions, ES, seasonal content and of course the much more profitable expeditions. Plus, you can work simultaneously towards a number of goals. I did Paramount Presence while echo-grinding for Cider for example.

Flint is the length of two ES,
