Pseudo-portability/embedding?

Hi all:

I am working out a plan for a web-based game which would benefit greatly from having a Storynexus-based narrative portion, but which will need to have features and functions outside of the engine.

The two aspects don’t really need to connect to each other in terms of coding (although it would be ideal if they did) but they do need to be accessible from the same general interface and domain name. The Storynexus part would be a game-within-a-game.

I understand Storynexus isn’t portable, according to the wiki, so my questions are as follows:

  • Is it possible to embed a Storynexus game within another site interface? (Basically, frames or some similar crude device allowing people to play in a Storynexus game while ostensibly being on another website.)[/li][li]If not, is there any other platform out there which uses similar storytelling mechanics that is embeddable/portable/otherwise modifiable?

Thanks very much.

I’m sure you could use a frame or an iframe easily enough, but I doubt very much that FBG would be happy with you doing so! You’d have to ask them I guess.

With work, it can be made to mimic some StoryNexus functionality. It’s also open source.

You could also potentially use Inform 7 with a Vorple wrapper. It’s powerful, but quite technically demanding.[/color]
