Me three!

Heh, we should form an angry mob.

&quotWhat do we want? Letters! When do we want it? Before the end of the week!&quot

My alt has the same problem. I bought 1400 echos worth of items and had quite a few private suppers.

And then this morning my notoriety dropped to 0 before I had a chance to up it to 2.

Yep: back down to 2. ARGH.

I just became a Conjurer, and there wasn’t any text–there’s a blank box, with an option to Echo This. Is the Bazaar feeling a touch postmodern, perhaps?

Wondering if you guys have seen the &quotUse your influence to invite Slowcake’s Amanuensis for a visit&quot card under &quotAttend to matters of society and scandal&quot in your Lodgings. It certainly makes matters a lot easier - albeit at the cost of a bit of Making Waves.

E: On reflection, I’m an idiot. Got said card confused with the &quotUnsigned Message&quot card that’s rather more difficult to arrange.

My Irrigo has cleared on a timely basis, once every 7 days. I have not kept track so closely of my Authorial salary, but I know I did receive it this week.

Regular (supposed to be weekly, but some posts on this list call that into question) payments of valuable items. The more advance the Profession the more costly the items. As an Author, I get a list of things I don’t recall all of offhand, including Nights on the Town, Dubious Testimony, and Cellars of Wine. You also earn Trade Secrets (worth 60 Echoes at the Bazaar) and may trade in Professional Perks to reduce a basic Menace of your choice to 0.

Except it halves it instead.

Does anyone know how to get the card for the trickster profession (from urchins)? I’ve got connected to urchins at 26, unlocked permanent route to the flit, and don’t have a profession. Do I have to be in the flit to draw the card? I’ve been trying for days but all I keep getting are cards for buying keys to property I can’t even come close to affording…

The card will turn up anywhere. If you want to speed things up a bit and have 5 Fate/Nex and A Favourable Circumstance you can write a letter at your Lodgings[li]

You have got to be kidding me… I finally dropped the unsigned message card… but now I only have one notability due to time passing, and no slowcake card. Knowing my luck, It will take weeks to show up. Sigh.

At least I’ve been able to grind up society connections to get the making waves I need. Turns out you find a lot of things to talk about as a rat catcher.

If you get your making waves to 15 you can force the Slowcake card at your lodgings. It is under &quotAttend to matters of society and scandal&quot. Make sure your BDR is at its highest before using that option and you should get a very good chance of raising your notability.[li]

Well then, Does anyone know of any way of easily increasing making waves?

Well the best way is to have a Salon or Orphanage but that is reliant on getting The Tower of Eyes card often enough.
The only ones that I know of that doesn’t rely on Opportunity Cards is the Social actions in your lodgings - inviting another player to supper. If you still have access to the Emperess’s Court there are some ways to raise MW
Then there are various Opportunity cards,

It’s worth noting that every action alphabetised as ^ is retired. From feasts of the exceptional rose and similar.

Finally, I’ve got that stalker job. Now I can stop moaning about it. ^_^

Is there a way to cash in society connections for Making Waves? I don’t play that frequently and I am having a h___ of a time getting my notability up to the needed level in just a week.

On the same card that lets you trade making waves for notability, yes. I wouldn’t recommend it, though – it seems like it’s a lot of effort but doesn’t give much in return. If you really want to make lots of waves, you should get a salon or an orphanage. They’re subject to the whims of chance and opportunity, but they’ll really shoot your stats through the roof.

I’m not sure if this is quite the right topic for this, but I have to say it.

I’m sorry to be so blunt, but I honestly feel that Notability has completely ruined the game for me. I only started on this trajectory because I’d been an Author for about three weeks and was excited about the new professions.

I spent dozens and dozens of actions building up my Making Waves before I got the chance to get a Salon; I raised my Notability to 2 the day before it got halved again. My Salon didn’t help much as I rarely get The Tower of Eyes when I need it (in contrast with the mysterious plant and struggling artist cards which I draw 20% of the time). Of late, I haven’t even been able to get the gentleman from Slowcake’s, meaning that my Notability went from 2 to 0 with no chance to use up my Making Waves.

I don’t know. I’ve played the game a long time and since this has been introduced I’ve found myself enjoying it so much less. I don’t log in as much as I used to either.

Just my €0.02.
