I have recently noticed two oddities and/or errors with the guns sold at Carrow’s Naval Surplus. First of all, the guns all list a warm-up time of 8 seconds. The thing is, when I equip C&S Denunciation, the warmup starts at 4 seconds and then reduces from their based off mirrors. I am pretty sure this is a bug, and I am PRAYING that the bug is a typo on the tool-tip for the guns (please for the love of all that is holy do not increase the gun warm-up times to 8 seconds. Combat is dangerous enough without doubling the warm-up times, and would become impossible until very late in the game and only if you can get mirrors high enough).
Second, I noticed that the damage on those guns and the pricing do not really match up in a sensible way, assuming the damage in the tool-tips are correct. I am going to use the deck guns as an example, since those are the ones I am the most familiar with (i have not played long enough, or been successful enough, to get a ship with other weapon slots at the moment). I am also specifically talking about the ones at Carrow’s, since that is the store with the problem. If I order the deck guns Carrow’s in order from cheapest to most expensive, you have the starter deck gun with the super long name(100 echoes), the C&S Reproach (200 echoes), and then the C&S Denunciation (500 echoes). If I order them by damage instead, then from least to most you have the starter gun (8 damage), the C&S Denunciation (12 damage), with C&S Reproach on top (15 damage). In other words, the C&S Denunciation is more expensive and less damaging than the C&S Reproach, which means the C&S Reproach is a trap.
A similar damage/cost misalignment does seem to apply to the torpedo and harpoon weapons, although the C&H Bandersnatch does have the distinction of being both the most expensive and the strongest weapon that Carrow’s sells.
I have thoughts on how I would solve both of these, but then again I’m not the one that might have an angry mod outside my door.
