I play D&D every other Sunday, and am thinking of making a(nother) spare character, based off of one of the Masters of the Bazaar. What Master would one recommend, and what stats should I prioritize?
Stats are Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma.
For some reason, I read "D&D Master" and thought you were trying to roleplay a Master as the DM for a second, but I digress.
[ul][li]Wines is, in my opinion, the most well-developed character of the Masters, and I suspect it’s the writers’ favorite (along with Pages) with its saturating presence in various stories ("Mr Wines is holding a sale", the revels, Sinning Jenny’s election campaign, A Conversation on the Road, "Lost in Reflections", "The Empress’ Shadow", "Cricket, Anyone?", The Silver Tree - and that’s not even all). It makes sense - his story is meaningful and relatable, and he’s likely the most pro-Bazaar of the Masters.
[/li][li]Pages appears to be the other favorite Master, though I feel that’s declined recently. It’d be fun but likely challenging to play with its creative vocabulary.
[/li][li]Irons is another fun character with definitive quirks, and while its motivations are less well-explored, we can draw conclusions from Knife and Candle, as well as its Noman.
[/li][li]Stones has quirks ("Mine!"), but that playstyle will probably not be popular.

Well, I know what I’m doing the next time I DM a game.

Although, I am a DM. :D
Okay, the general opinion is Wines. What stats should I prioritize to play Wines? This isn’t a guarantee that I am playing Wines, but I should plan on that. Also, what character race should I choose to represent the fact that the Masters of the Bazaar are alien space bats ?
Charisma, obviously. Secondarily, perhaps Wisdom? He’s definitely mental over physical, though I suspect all of our lovely [redacted] are up on their Constitution.
Since I’m thinking along these lines now:
STR: Iron, Fires
CON: Stones
DEX: Veils
CHA: Wines, Cups, Hearts
INT: Pages
WIS: —
Unsure about Spices. I could also see Hearts as CON. No word on Eaten.
I figured that Charisma would be a high priority for Wines, but was unsure what the secondary stat would be.
Also, my guess about Eaten would be Charisma and Constitution, but low Wisdom.
Ha!
