Topic above. Once you finish your main quest can you still wander around the world?
Or does the game end end you can’t access your fiel anymore?
From what I’ve gathered if you finish your main Ambition then that captain is retired. Bear that in mind if you get to the point of making a final story choice. There are apparently a couple of non-playthrough ending primary quests - though the only one I’m aware of is founding your own colony.
