Sorry, just being my usual self. The extra watchful doesn’t change my chances at any action I plan to do, and the overgoat card consists of one option that takes 8 actions with a sufficiently high watchful check that I’m not going to bother with it, and the other one has a return that is less than I’d get than if I spend my actions with my usual grind.
I’m happy to get the overgoat, but it’ll be a VERY long time before the purchase pays for itself. edited by RandomWalker on 5/31/2014

I think the goat is meant to be its own reward. As in a mantelpiece looky what I’ve got I’m a crazed loon ahahahhaa item (with a card option and lore and humorous ubergoat) - rather than a tool to make getting a second goat faster.
Agree absolutely, babelfishwars, and I am very happy to have one for that reason. It is nice, however, in that it is a significant boost to max watchful. My comment, which was not intended to be seen as a criticism, is that at the moment my goat is decorative, but will one-day earn it’s keep when I go fishing into the mysteries of the neath or run through the forgotten quarter like a dose of salts.
As before, apologies for any offence, it was not intended.

None taken. By me. There might be some strange goat fancier who has been mortally wounded. But their fault for their misplaced passions.
I was merely … declaring. (I’m a mere 3000 off a goat. By mere I mean: I WILL NEVER HAVE ONE! :-( )
If you’ve got a grind that pays more than the 2.5 Echoes per action you get for an Aeolean Scream, I’d certainly like to hear it.[/quote]
It’s not 2.5 epa unless you have superhigh watchful. Can you even get 334?
Anyway, let’s see …
… with, say, 250 watchful, you would get ~75% (93% with sudden insight) chance at asking opinion (success: +250p, failure: +100p), for expected 212 ppa (239 with sudden insight) …
… and 50% at the 8-action one (75% with sudden insight) (success: +2500p, failure: +250p), for expected 171 ppa (242 with sudden insight).
All of which is still pretty good, compared to anything repeatable.
Okay, apologies for mis-speaking about the worth of the card, which I hadn’t actually done the math for when I made my initial declaration. For the record, my max watchful is 228 and I hate spending sudden insights, but yes, the epa isn’t bad on the one-action version.
Apologies for distracting the discussion away from people’s achievements.
I am now in official possession of an Ubergoat! For sheer self-amusement I constructed it entirely out of wax, or I stole it from the wax museum, I can’t remember which, but it’s now animate and clinging to my roof, so I guess I’m stuck with it.
