naive question about going to Court?

Does going to Court move you to regions unavailable to other Fallen Londoners?

I believe it does, yes. You may freely walk out, but getting back again will involve trading more services.

It does, just like when visiting areas such as the forgotten quarter w/o unlocking it from lodgings.

To my knowledge, you can not open a permanent route to the court like you can for most other places. This is most likely because eventually you will be ‘asked’ to leave the court, and I do not believe you will be allowed back in once you are.

I think she’s trying to ask whether being in the court will prevent social actions invite.

I don’t remember about that clearly, but I think your friend can reduce scandal for you as long as you send the invite before you actually head into court.

You can still perform social actions (Via card, or receiving them from players), and visit the bazaar. The only odd bit of the court is that you cannot enter it freely.

Indeed Byron! Thank you and Urthdigger both for the answer. I am going to venture into the realm of the creative and wanted to make sure, before doing so, that I would not be unavailable for making plans with friends (actions, cats [if I ever get a card, incredibly rare recently!], menace reduction requests, etc).

A Lady delving

I have a related naive question about the Court: Browsing through the various options of play on the wiki, I noticed there are two main story branches: Choosing a romance at Court, and creating a work of inspiration. The rest is spoilered for those who do not wish to know: SPOILER: Both of these routes end in becoming a disgraced exile sent to the tomb colonies. Does this mean that if I follow the path of romance to it’s conclusion, I will be permanently exiled and will not be permitted to return and complete the path of inspiration? I would much like to follow both paths, but would be dissapointed if I had to choose one over the other/SPOILER

To answer your question Hermes

At the end of the romance if you choose the ultimate act of hedonism you are exiled to the tomb colonies. As soon as you lower your scandal you may return. When you finish the inspiration you are exiled from the court, and can never return. Your are expected to do both, just finish the romance first.

Thank you very much, that clears up my query nicely. Luckily i’ve gone down the romance route first :)
