Mirrorcatch Box

Looking for one of these now. I’m in the Waswood and willing to stay there as long as it takes. When they say &quotrare&quot success, how rare are they talking about?

Based on anecdotes on Reddit, probably 1-2%.

Do you happen to have a Railway? It’s possible to get a box dependably by gratuitously overpaying in Jericho.

Making an Impassioned Argument for Light and Beauty at various stations also has a rare success giving one.

I need the box to become a railway director

I farmed waswood a lot before there was better source. My guess is 2.5% (5% of 50% success)

It does not have to be 2.5%, though. When leaving the Waswood, Airs of Parabola changes randomly. Plus, leaving and returning to the Waswood does not cost any actions. So you can avoid the &quotReach towards the shore&quot action that does not give a Mirrorcatch box on rare success.

Just look at the Airs of Parabola, and when they’re greater than 49, return to your basecamp, then return to the Waswood again, and once more check Airs of Parabola. Repeat until Airs of Parabola are smaller than 50. As mentioned, that won’t cost any action; it takes quite a lot of clicks, though.

Now my curiosity is piqued, I want to go to (unlock) Waswood and experience it for myself.

My profession is a Silverer.

It’s a super rare reward in Waswood.

One of the two rare rewards, the other being the Bottle of Fourth City Airag: Year of the Tortoise.

I didn’t get it, will go back there in future.

I’ve heard that the ending of the exceptional story Cut With Moonlight unlocks cheaper options to get the boxes on certain opportunity cards. Not new cards, but options on existing faction cards that you might otherwise discard if you didn’t need favors.

Leaving the last decision open in that story allows you to acquire them at will.

It’s possible, depending on option chosen at the end, to get them very cheaply on Criminals or Society card. I think there is a way to firmly cut them off, but I know two options have Criminal and Society Card. Caroline gets piles of them from the society card.

Thank you for those hints für Cut with Moonlight.

I´m quite at the beginning of the story (CwM 40), and I have a repeatable option to &quotpurchase a box of sunlight&quot for 100 pennies. This Sun-Stamped Mirrorcatch Box can then be opened, yielding an empty Mirrorcatch box. Guess I´ll be doing my rounds here today…

I’ll let you enjoy the effects of Touch of the Upstairs about You (which is actually Moonlight).

I do have some requests if you are playing that story:

  1. there will be an option to state your reasons (CwM 60) where I am missing the option where you do things for money. Please pop a message here if you are inclined to pick that one.
  2. Did you finish the Cheery Man story?

CwM at 60 now. Option &quotfor the money&quot appears. From a RP point of view, I´d probably chose the revolutionary/rebellion way. But I understand there´s some interest in finding out what the money-option yields?

Cheery Man should be finished, if I remember correctly. Ended up with that drinking-event with that poisoned glasses/tankards, right?

After that option, you get to talk with the guy and you can ask him about the Cheery Man; I was curious if the text is different for those that finished the story (the poison drinking part).

You might want to check my profile/journal for both questions (1 and 2).

Apparently, the &quotHe is a relic&quot-part now has a different meaning…

The echo for the Cheery Man is the same if you finished or not the story. But it does fit both cases. :)
