Really unfortunate that the cool gloves from Hell are in the exact same slot with the same MAGCATS bonus as the gloves you can just buy outright from the Upper River Exchange. There’s no lore reason it has to be that way, either!
That really seems like a blunder. They’re almost totally wasted.
Well, they probably did it that way now so that they won’t nerf it later! They’re thinking ahead because "balance and s__t!".
;)

Update: Your fourth visit to Hell has more.
I am now a pretty pretty flower.
Does it? Because it seemed like nothing much, for yet another week.
You should have got some gloves (+1 Dreaded, +1 AotRS). Pretty nice, though it’s a shame that it’s the same slot as the AotRS item from the shop.
Seems that I recall the AotRS glove item from the shop is pretty high priced.
At this point in the game, anything less pricy than an Overgoat barely registers. It costs a few thousand scrip,
That’s so true. Thousands upon tens of thousands of echoes poured into the upper river, like water into a desert. Has anyone actually counted the cost? I have no idea, just a vague sense that my progress towards cider has… slowed.
Yeah, this. The gloves cost an insignificant amount of Hinterland Scrip, I have thousands of scrip left over that I have nothing to do with. Since Marigold Station turned out to be a flop.
Wait, that’s it? You get/become a fancy flower? I’m going to check this saturday anyway just in case, but are we sure there isn’t anything unlocked on subsequent visits?
We’re not sure yet. It hasn’t been out long enough for anyone to find out. I’ll let you Friday morning.

Ah, that’s a relief. I suspected as much since this Hell thing’s been on a slow burn, was just worried someone had confirmed this is all there is on the Discord or somesuch.
I like the idea of being a fancy flower. I love flowers, and I’m already part space fungus.
Well, it appears that, at least for now, getting the flower was the last visit to Hell. You cannot reenter after TtH. Just confirmed.
And now that I know it GROWS INSIDE YOU, I’m definitely not getting it.
I’m disappointed that we can’t keep going to Hell after the flower.
Aww. That’s…yeah, that’s really anticlimatic. I thought all the stuff the Hell-Scarred Gondolier was spouting was building up to something. Don’t get me wrong, for all it’s ups and downs I did have a blast with Railway in many parts, it just feels weird that everything came to a head BEFORE we built the last station if that makes any sense? I dunno, maybe if FB hadn’t noticed the yuge reception Railway got and added more stuff (I’m assuming the whole Discordance arc, the BEST part of Railway by a huge margin for me at least) Marigold would feel like a more natural conclusion. But as it is I’m just like "Okay GREAT, screwed that horny stalagmite out of it’s waifu and immortalised myself as a city! Now I get to…do odd jobs for devils and be implanted with a flower?". Overall I really like how Railway incorporated my and others’ Ambition items into it’s stories, the new opportunities and so on. I suppose in the end, I was just expecting all those Queer Souls you can get from the Mandolist to have been building up to something big.
On a side note, since it seems a little meanspirited to make a thread specifically to complain about something so petty: Did anyone just give up on the new smuggling thing at Balmoral when the game suggested you should do it "for the love of the crime"? Like damn woman, after years of doing crimes for proper recompense I’d rather keep my Master’s Blood than respond to the smuggling equivalent of "I double-dog dare you!"
Oh, no, no, my character loves doing crime for the sport of it! Actually grinding Master’s B___d to get that last Twilit Smuggler level and build the last vanity statue. Because he’s also totally in love with himself. What a b____rd!
I suspect they’ll eventually revisit Hell in some manner, which is why we’ve got Marigold. Railway, in general, really fleshed Hell out beyond anything we had before.
It’s just a matter of what they’re prioritizing and, as FBG stated, Zeefarer applies to far more players than the excessive endgame material of Railway did.
