A heads-up: I plan to become a Correspondent either this week or the next. If you want to send invitations, now is the time! (This’ll help me too, since I need all the Making Waves I can get.)[li]

My character, jimwormmaster, would be happy to speak. Alas, I do not have a salon or orphanage of my own at the moment, but one day.
While my preferences lie more towards research than publishing, I have managed some little body of work - tragedies, mostly - and would be more than happy to attend any engagements that would invite such an author.
Ditto to this! I don’t know how long it’ll take, but I’m at 3 Notability (soon to degrade to 2 Notability, I think) and shooting for 5 as soon as I can manage it. And then–Author no more.
Yeah, for clarity’s sake I am also an author trying not to be, though unless I have an extraordinary run of luck I will be available for salons for at least another week. (And don’t worry, I will edit my posts in this thread the minute I cease to be.)
EDIT: Made it! Thanks to those who invited me to their salons!
I am finding myself amused at the image of huge swathes of London’s celebrated authors spending their days and nights in constant rounds of private dinners with one another. I would love to hear what the gossips think we’re up to.

I think it’s a very writerly thing to do. I mean, you know writers.
Of course, we’re obviously all in the midst of a conspiracy. Plotting it piece by piece over dinner.
We’re also remarkably well-fed.
I must inform you all that my main character is now a Correspondent, and no longer an author; thus, she is no longer eligible for invites to Salons, sorry! My alt is a Journalist and also ineligible, however, she might seek promotion in the near future.
I look forward to the day you can invite Correspondents to salons. Your guests will not longer have to go so lamentably bereft of flaming hair, ocular bleeding, and complete and utter bloody madness. They’ll be talking about that party for weeks! And also running away very quickly when they see you coming down the street.
In all seriousness, though, do you think they’re going to upgrade these sort of options for the new professions? With these new schemes I’ve been hearing about, perhaps?
My second alt, Lanzo Hoffman, is still an Author and will remain such for some time to come. Feel free to invite him to such a salon, I would be most eager to attend.

My character is an author at present (although trying to ascend to a Correspondent in the near future) and willing to attend dinners while remaining so employed.
Noted.
I do wonder if there might be a higher-level option for advanced professions. Maybe one that requires level 12 like the Duchess?
I’m an author as well, and I’d love to accept invitations. Also open for any other kind of social interactions.
Hi! I have been playing Fallen London for a long time, but have only now decided to become active with social actions.
I am an author, and I would be happy to visit your salon
this is my profile: http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/NLDE84
I too am an Author on the path to Correspondent, and I would be happy to appear at any social gathering.
I’m an author, largely of ridiculous works of romantic fiction that conceal Correspondence secrets, and I’d be happy to speak at any salon. I promise not to cause any guests to burst into flame. (Same user name in Fallen London: thefourthvine.)[li]
Mister Merus is an author, and will not be delving too deeply into Corresponding any time soon. He would be delighted to attend your little soirée; he has heard such good things.

Since recent… risearches, the name of my own person has become a …scandalous one. My most beloved admirers abandoned me.
My humble person elucubrates that it would be …scandalous for you, having my writings as intertainement.
Glamorous hosts,
Probably some of you are already acquainted with the earliest operas of E.S.:
"Ode to the mycelia, the majestic appearance of Her Ifae"
(An epic poem about the impossible affection between a literate colony of fungi and a poetic Rubbery man.)
On the trail of Jack: Unsexuality and the Afterlife.
(A brief essay in which i deal with the most salacious crimes of our most believed killer)
Among the others, i would remind:
Animalistic patterns in the correspondance: a short review on nothingness and cats.
Scandal for simpletons: match misdemeanors and garrulous people in order to walk the path of fame!
Where does my urchin lies? A practical volume for the collection and training of less-fortunate children.
I am currently working on:
Seventy seven on the trail of sevens.
A collection of experience and interviews of my Seeker acquaintances, in which they will explain their need for self destruction, the curiosity which bring them to ruin and the mad, contagious vision which haunt them.
More Seeker acquaintances are certainly welcomed.
Being on the path to fame, i would be more than glad to perform in your Salons, and entertain your guest, or sign any copy of my works.
Deeply yours,
E.s.
