I haven’t been active in Fallen London for (several years?). I’ve been poking my head in to collect my wages and maintain Notability, and participating in some of the festivals. I’d like to try out some of the greatly expanded regular content that’s been added, but I can’t find a way into any of it. I don’t have a Lab because I don’t have any Justificande Coins and am not a Correspondant, and most of the sources for the coins seem to require other things I don’t have or places I can’t go (Parabolan Base Camp, Railway things). Allegedly I can get some of the coins by performing a Heist that requires 5 Favors from the Docks, but I don’t have any Favors from the Docks. I looked into ways to get those, but they all seem to require specific cards or the Airs of London to be a certain number, and I can’t seem to get that number to display anymore, so hoping on a 4% chances seems pretty bleak.
Is there anything I can do besides sit and wait for the RNG to spit out cards that give me Favors to the Docks? Like, without changing my profession (Midnighter). Any help would be appreciated.
Oh, well. Thanks. I remember I was going to try to get back into things once before, and hit this same roadblock. Now I’m even further behind, and there’s still no way in.
[quote=Waterpls]Just wait for favours, i guess. It should not take long, less than one day with average luck (faction card, the visit, faction pet card…)
You’ll get in =)
Some ways to gat favours: The Docks (mostly cards):
Visit the regretful soldier
Use your favourable circumstances to draw the docks card
Draw the docks card on your own
You can get 1 favour for 3 actions with The airs of London 96-100

In the mean time, you could try to get a lot of memories of light for gaining access to Parabola (as well as improving your lab)
Also: consider joining the discord =) (Discord)
Also, since you’ve been inactive for some years, you can just pick up your Ambition from where you left it, since they’ve added the conclusions to them. Just to keep you active while you’re getting your bearings back.
Favourable Circumstances are actually an important one. They used to be gated by very high Notability or Fate. Now you get 1 a week. Obviously 7 weeks is a lot and I wouldn’t suggest that but it is a source to top up a couple of missing favours.
I had no idea we got Favourable Circumstances once a week - that’s excellent news. 7 weeks might seem like a lot to you, but I seriously tried to get back into content a year ago or more with no luck, so 7 weeks maximum is a much more acceptable alternative to "maybe never."
Justificande coins are available on a special heist (5 docks favours required). There are generally more heist options and more heist cards, some of which are trickier, but the cards are no longer limited in number.
You have to use the Favourable Circumstance each week to get more. Don’t hoard it or you won’t get another the next week, as the game only gives you a new one if you currently don’t have any.
You can now also get Justificandes from cashing in your Something is Coming quality, and the card to do so now autofires when SiC hits 4. That’s only 10 total change points of SiC, so if you just flip cards for a while, between SiC and Dock favours, you’ll be able to get what you need in no time.
Why not try progressing your Ambition with your extra actions while you wait for your deck to refill? Since you say you don’t have a Lab or Parabola access yet, you must not have finished it.

I think you need to actually have a Railway station built before that option unlocks.
The ambition might offer a way to build a parabolan base camp without a lab. Heart’s Desire does, and I think at least one other does as well.
In any case, the conclusion of the ambitions is “new content” that you can play with while waiting for Dock favours. Or you could sail to Mutton Island if you’re impatient to get the coin specifically without waiting for cards.

You’re right, shoot. So easy to lose track of what triggers when. The new content is staggeringly complicated.
Oh, good point, yeah. You can just get Docks favors at mutton island. Not the most profitable way, but would get you the favors you need in a few days probably.
Grinding Docks Favours by just churning Unfinished Business and Airs should take perhaps two days. Yes, it’s only a 5% chance, but if you’re zen and have the correct phrases memorized, it’s not difficult.
It’s not like there’s nothing to do while you’re waiting for your deck to re-fill so you can try for more Dock favours. Singlemindedly trying to grind one thing in this game is a recipe for frustration, IMO.
You can specifically grind Docks Favours at Mutton Island using the carousel if you don’t want to rely on luck. This does change quirks (reduce Heartless and increase Magnanimous I think).
