Last night, I dreamed a strange dream...

Last night, I dreamed a strange dream. I looked down upon a black sea, surrounded by an endless darkness that might have been a limitless void, except for one blackened spit of land upon which its waves crashed. Lava surged forth from glowing cracks in the stony ground, plunging into the thrashing seas… but instead of a quenching hiss of steam, the streams continued falling deeper, down, down to a cavern beneath the sea, where they cooled into an island of basalt glass. Any adventurous souls who visited the depths of those hepaestian caverns were reforged into something stronger, something more novel… unseen upon this earth before.

(They sort of resembled the class upgrades from Final Fantasy. Everything went 8-bit. Like I said, my dreams are strange.)

I’m still trying to decide if it was just the effect of a slightly undercooked pork chop, or if I should stop studying my correspondence plaques so soon before bedtime…
