Knife and Candle advice needed

Can anyone suggest some tips for Knife and Candle? I’ve been trying it off and on for quite a long time now but am discouraged because I’m getting nowhere with it.

Are you looking for tips for the iron leagues or the moon leagues? If you haven’t tried the moon leagues I do suggest checking it out.

Here’s a collection of moon league advice I’ve given out over the years if it helps:

Thanks. I’m in the Iron League, haven’t tried the Moon League yet.

Iron league is a simple system. attacker chooses form of attack, compares stats with their opponent, rolls the die, and declares victory or defeat. defender sees the results, and notes that an item was dropped, or wasn’t dropped. the optimal system is to have your highest stat affecting their lowest, but that’s hard to do. nevertheless, attacking with the right stat to hit their weak point for massive damage is the key to victory, as is attacking with your own highest stat.

the system favors the attacker, in any situation but a perfect stat matchup, in that in any situation, the attacker will have better odds, for that stat ratio, then the defender would in the same position. so attack, attack, attack. whenever possible, kill people.

when you choose your form, savage and elusive are stable. winning or losing, they are constant in the iron leagues. the only way to change them is one of three items, and each cuts 2 stats by one point to boost a third by the same. baroque, however, might seem like the optimal stat to favor for offense-(the egg imponderable offers a stat of 100, and the other forms have 60 or 70.) maybe it is at first, but it lowers every time you win a baroque duel. (it also raises when you win, but that’s planning for defeat. it also means you opponent’s baroque stat will be getting better as yours get worse.) The simplest solution for this is to keep changing form, if you wish to favor baroque, from the egg imponderable, to the egg imponderable… yes, this works, and resets your stats to the default.

otherwise, choose a target, and keep trying to kill them. iron leagues are elegant in their simplicity, or simplistic in their elegance.
