Eho of betraying society , someone ???
Wait, archiving it involves Revolutionaries? You’ve made my decision for me, thanks.
I had Caroline keep it so she could show it to “The Right People” at the Labrys. I enjoyed the story. Not much meat but a fun exercise.
I haven’t been able to find an echo for the betrayal option, but here are the other four:
Hide it:http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/ReusedNPC?fromEchoId=14165384
Keep it:http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/cathyr19355?fromEchoId=14164826
Archive it:http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/meanderer?fromEchoId=14173007
Incite revolution:http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/Anton%20Moebius?fromEchoId=14166280
Here’s an Echo for the betrayal option: http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/Kharagal%20Mierqid?fromEchoId=14161917 You get +1 CP for Connected: The Masters from doing it.
This one was interesting in what it showed me about my character. She’s young enough that London-That-Was was never on the surface in her lifetime. And she is much more interested in the London-That-Is. While she is interested in knowing what London-That-Was was like, she’s not interested in it for it’s own sake, but for the sake of how it could matter now. Trying to “reclaim” London-That-Was isn’t something she thinks needs to happen. So when the Constables warned her about the raid, she made sure she wasn’t in their way.
From an OoC perspective… Having found out that the Revolution had something to do with two of the endings (even it it’s not “offical”), I am more then fine with selling out the Society and getting some of that elusive Connected: The Masters.
Rewards info that I’ve gathered so far:
- Betray the Society: +1 CP Connected: The Masters.
- Keep it: Map of Prelapsarian London (home comfort, Shadowy +2 Watchful +3), 1 Partial Map, 11 Intriguing Snippets, 1 Vision of the Surface, 1 Antique Mystery, Memories of Light*, Map Scraps*.
- Find an archive for it: (No idea what the rewards are for this one, anyone who played this option please fill us in.)
- Use it to encourage revolution: 1 Night-Whisper, 1 An Identity Uncovered, 1 Aeolian Scream, 4 Extraordinary Implications. (This option requires paying 6 London Street Signs)
- Hide its stories for others to discover: 1 Puzzling Map, several Touching Love Stories, Visions of the Surface*.
*) The number scales with how many Map Details you have. I have done "Keep it" twice so I know for sure it’s the memories and scraps that scale. I haven’t seen more than one result of "Hide its stories for others to discover" so I’m less sure about it, except for the visions which came in similarly big amount as the memories and scraps in the other ending.
I’m sorry, a Night-Whisper AND 15 echoes more of stuff? That’s… pretty ridiculous. Not that it’s bad. Just unexpected.
It’s not bad, just normal in Echo value. You need 6 London Street Signs (worth 15E) to play that option and lose them after it.
…Perhaps I should clarify that in my post.

I seem to be stuck. How do you progress out of the Covert Survey section after gaining beyond 32 Map Detail?[li]
Edit: Nevermind. Well, that was underwhelming.

You have to complete a survey of all four starter areas.
Finding an archive for it gives you a personal recommendation and a favor among revolutionaries. Kinda sucks, but whatever.
Have no option to start it. Or now you need ES to even see the storylet?
It was visible to me (not EF); I played it and it vanished. But my other half (EF), who also plays, made the mistake of going to the season hub first and never got to play it because it vanished after unlock.

I feel like ruthlessly selling people out to the terrible overlords of the bazaar should pay better, that rare and valuable reward is a cruel joke
Same here, between that and a home comfort item, that seems quite rare (i still have none), it was disapointing.
I absolutely loved this Exceptional Story. It has everything I could possibly ask for: a unique and lore-filled premise, a wide variety of gameplay mechanics, non-linear progression, excellent writing, and even a unique item to remember it by.
And it never felt unfair, either: players with a good knowledge of the Fifth City can tell which options might attract undue attention, and I noticed multiple sources of required items that would allow even brand-new players to have plenty of options. Storylets were denoted with information that ensured you would not misinterpret the action your character would take.
This is easily tied for one of my favorite Exceptional Stories in Fallen London.
I’m going to say it was an okay outing but not one of my favourites. Maybe the trivia is of some interest to players who actually are into what the story was about: figuring out the exact relation between surface and fallen London but personally I found the ES somewhat lacking in direction. We got a bit of a look into the Surveyor but I didn’t feel like I’ve built a connection or that my decisions were personal the way they were in, say, All Things Must End. We got some snippets of lore but they felt neither like I was discovering eldritch secrets like some stuff from The Rat-Catcher nor did it give me the feeling I was engaging with everyday London life the way I did in The Heart, The Devil, and the Zee. If Exceptional Stories were interconnected more than they are (I know why they aren’t but if) this could be an interesting buildup to something more, or it might be a fun way to have a brush with the revolutionaries for someone newer, or a way to support them for someone so aligned, but for me it lacked the hook to pull me in.
I am pretty happy about how towards the end I feel equal tugging from each of the endings, even as a character not overly invested in it.
Man, do I feel your pain. Having ground up SotC to 10, all four tigers, and Poet Laurette… I get it.
Rewards for archiving is as follows:
The streets themselves hold stories.
You decided the fate of the Waterhouse Society map.
[Scarce] A bona fide from an individual of impeccable reputation. It might even be real. [This is mainly used for creating advanced items - such as joining The Parthenaeum.]
You now have 1 x Personal Recommendation
You’ve done somebody a good turn. Now, they’re in your debt.
You’ve gained 1 x Favours: Revolutionaries .
Kind reminder that the story locks in less than 24 hours!
