The Sinister Burglar glances for eavesdroppers, then leans in close. “You ever heard of the Doubt Street Phantom?”
The Sinister Burglar and the Dextrous Scoundrel have plans for one last job. The target: the Museum of Prelapsarian History. The prize: a priceless and powerful mirror. The only obstacle: a Granitic Inspector, a Clay constable of unstoppable drive and single-minded determination. Will the Burglar and the Scoundrel pull off one last job together? And why do they both claim to be the one and only Doubt Street Phantom?
I split them up and got a good ribcage from the burglar and six pennies from the scoundrel. I think it might be the same number he stole from you over the course of the heist?
Did any of the outcomes end with the scoundrel giving you a good payoff?
What is the text for splitting them up, did you save it? All mine said was The letter is just two words: Your cut. You lift up the attached pouch and weigh it in your hand. It’s oddly light.
You unwrap the string holding it together and let its contents fall into your hand.
That’s basically the same text I got from the scoundrel. The burglar had more, about how he reconnected with old friends and his old life and seemed happy with it. I didn’t save it.
Unless I’m misremembering my choice lol
But I’m pretty sure I chose “go your separate ways, you louts, and stop living in the past”
This was a great one! I actually like that it was on the shorter side. The 80-plus action stories are just exhausting, especially given how many other endgame activities we have now that eat up actions.
Congratulations to both Heather and Bruno on a nearly immaculate typo-free text!
I really like the depiction of Irrigo in this one. Feels like the best version we’ve got since A Dinner to Die For (man exceptional stories have been good for Neathbow stuff). I kept them together. I’m a bit of a sucker for twin and mirroring stories about the importance of relationships and other people.
can someone help me choose between the 3 final options? i know in this game theres never a “right” answer but i have no idea what any of the outcomes might look like, and my decision paralysis ocd is kicking my ass today (think chidi from the good place). i cant move on until i finish the heist, so basically i cant play the game til i make this decision (which makes the ocd panic worse) which is frustrating because i would like to be working on some other plots i have going and use up my action points.
please advise!!!
Well, there wasn’t really that much difference between the two options where you don’t show them the mirror. Based on what the Burglar writes you, in one ending, they have difficult time going on with their unseeing coexistence while in the other ending they have difficult time moving on after ending it. One way or another, neither is easy for them but neither is it all bad. The mechanical reward is identical in both cases, a Seven-Necked Ribcage. Incidentally, theredshoes, you probably missed a bit, because I’m 100% positive you get the Ribcage in your ending. Perhaps a glitch just made you skip the letter from the Burglar?
Finally, I haven’t seen what happens if you let them peek in the Mirror again, but based on the state they’re already in and on what Irrigo can and does do to a mind, I’d not count on a satisfying or indeed humane ending for either of them. I’d consider that to be by far the most drastic thing to do, although of course it might be interesting to observe the result, academically speaking. Anyone has the echoes for that?
