Is Notability supposed to disappear when... ?

Hello !

I connected today, and realized my Notability is gone. I had 15. When I hit 15 Notability (3-4 weeks ago), I used the card which enables your character to reach 215 in a stat. Does it burn all your Notability ? That would explain why I don’t have any Notability even though I’ve been careful to keep Making Waves above 16 before Time the Healer hits.

Can someone explain, please ? Is there any action which can wipe your Notability in one go ?

I ask you because I was sure I still had all my Notability, and being at 0 straight away really surprised me. ^^’

There are several actions which do that.
Reaching the stat above 200 is one of them. Buying Prize Tokens is another.
Insist on Favourable Circumstances - another.
Several Connection Items do that when raising quirks from level 12+.
Throwing the Amanuensis out on his oily little ear - another notability wiper.
There are more that slipped my mind.
Also, if you reached notability 15 you probably know this but one needs to keep Making Waves above Notability X 2 in order to keep the current notability when TTH arrives.
So if you want to keep your 15 notability you need 30 MW and not just 16.

Yes.

Sorry, these are both wrong. Favourable Circumstances only consume the 7 points of Notability required to buy them, not &quotall that you’ve got&quot, and your Making Waves has to be exactly equal to your Notability to maintain it (15 in this case), not higher (and definitely not double).[li]

I always doubled the MW before TTH. MY LIFE IS A LIE! All those lost actions and competition to beat the deadline![/li][li]It’s a good thing we talk here…[/li][li]
[/li][li]Doesn’t MW gets halved FIRST and then compared to Notability? Always thought I could not have MW less than Notability (and that is the case if I have MW + 1 than Notability and then halved).[/li][li]Am… am I the only one who doubled his MW before TTH? Everyone else got that right?[/li]

Nope. Making Waves gets compared, THEN it gets halved. (I guarantee this based on the past several months of me being incredibly lazy and only just squeaking out my 8 or 9 MW each week).

Thank you guys !! Now I’m sad… <_<’ I won’t have the patience to get Notability this high again.

Yes, I now read the old forum’s topics.
Maaaan, all these actions, all those months! went to MW=16 just to protect Notability 8, etc…
I could have been wealthy now, dining with the empress at night and herding Ubergoats at day.

If you read TTH’s message, it would tell you what Notability value your MW would support. I.e., if your MW was 30, it would say “Notability hasn’t changed, because it’s lower than 31,” not “because it’s lower than 16”.

That’s unfortunate. I know how hard it is to push Notability to 15. I understand your disappointment.

But the game was very explicit in explaining the Notability cost when upgrading your base stats over 200. The text for those options includes:

D’oh! The thrill of supergrind lying in wait in the distant future sends a shiver down my throat.

Haaa, so this is where it’s said. Seems I didn’t read it all. I’m not really disappointed since it’s the way the game works, but it’s clearly painful hahaha.
