Ideas for Constant Companions

I was thinking the other day of possible constant companions that could be added to the current lineup for the sake of variety. Since I styled my own Owen Wulf as a man of Danger, I was thinking of some possible prospects in that field. I instantly thought of two options along with proposed bonuses from each:

Dangerous Companions:

Chi Lan, the Royal fencing instructor

  • Dangerous/Dreaded/Respectable

Feducci, Leader of the Black Ribbon

  • Dreaded/Dangerous/Bizarre

The reason I thought these two would make good choices is because they are guaranteed to survive no matter the outcome of the player’s ventures in the Black Ribbon Dueling Society. They are also exotic to say the least, a Blademaster of the Orient with a mysterious past and an Incarnation of Death masquerading as aTomb Colonist (I don’t know how else to describe Feducci). The Intriguers and Attaches from the Foreign Office storyline are nice but I would instantly shell out money for a storyline allowing an acquaintance with the enigmatic and seemingly unkillable Chi Lan.

And best of all, you could still fight them in the Black Ribbon because it’s (sort of?) not personal, just the way of the Society. What do you guys think? What Constant Companions would you think best compliment the setting?

Here’s the discussion I started on this topic a while back: http://community.failbettergames.com/topic126-future-permanent-companions.aspx

I think I mentioned both possibilities :)
