I need an Infernally Diplomatic Privilege, a Wink from the Manager of the Royal Beth, or a Novel Birthmark to move on with this story and I have no idea how to get any of those.
Aren’t those just the names for the top-tier residences?
There are two ways for each. For both you will need to have one of the prior lodgings (A Guest Room at the Brass Embassy, A Permanent Reservation at the Royal Bethleham, or A Lengthy Lease to Premises at the Bazaar).
You can then upgrade them using an option on the lodgings card you get from your chosen lodging (always expensive), or you can build your Taste of Lacre up to 7 for the royal beth, 8 for the brass embassy (also requires you to be soulless), or 9 for the bazaar and wait for Penstock’s Wicket to open in early January (closes by early February). There is also a cost of Notability for the Penstock’s Wicket option, but it’s less than upgrading any other time of year through the lodgings cards. Given the time of year, I highly advise Penstock’s Wicket as your upgrade route, but it’s up to you.
To answer the post above, the privilege, wink, and birthmark aren’t the names of the top-tier lodgings themselves, but of the keys to get into those lodgings.

Now’s a really good to nab the high tier lodgings as stated above. Also, all three lodgings cost 3 Notability and the Brass Embassy requires you to have sold your soul.
Yeah, the wicket is such a good upgrade option that I’ve been waiting to complete HD since April or May. It gave me time to grind up everything I’ll need to complete HD, though, so I wasn’t worried about it.
