Heart's Blood Season: Item Trade-In

Rewards:

Eating gives an Elemental Secret whereas not eating gives a Dreadful Surmise.

Thank you, delicious friend.

If you are interested, Lemexis, my character could not bring herself to eat. I echoed the relevant text here:

I was very, very torn about what to do for my final choice – I eventually refused to eat the last morsel. Partly out of spite, and partly as an attempt to protect my fellow diner. I really enjoyed this! Part of me wishes for a more unique souvenir of the season, something worth the same value as the Dreadful Surmise (which I totally appreciate!) but tied to the storyline. Either way, very content with this resolution! I’d love to see more multi-parters like the Heart’s Blood Season!

I’d just like to say how much I love you all. When faced with the option of partaking in a sanguine dish fit for a Seeker’s abhorrent diet and would repulse any standard individual with modern &quotmorals&quot or what not, what do the majority of us do? Why, we eat of course! Cannibalism is such a restrictive faux pas anyway, and we need not concern ourselves with what we’re eating so much as how it tastes. It’s wonderfully ridiculous, and I love it.

Also, while I fully understand why many wouldn’t finish the last dish, I can’t help but find the action humorous within its context. Like, &quotHow dare you serve me this disgusting dish after I knowingly provided you the ingredients and happily accepted the invitation to dine with you!&quot Again, it makes perfect sense, which makes its reasoning in the whole affair even funnier.

Hey, it’s not entirely cannibalism! We’re just imitating the god-eaters ;)

I was deeply torn on the final decision and nearly chose not to eat. Ultimately I decided that in matters of protecting humanity itself, engaging in a most minor act of cannibalism in order to consume Mountain Essence (which might lead to necessary powers) was the lesser evil. The horror that it did nothing was its own sort of reward.

How nice! I only played The Waltz that Moved the World but I was deeply fascinated with it, so I’m eager to read the other stories. If I understood correctly, I can buy them with Fate and obtain the items anyway, right? I want to eat gross things too.

Yes! The Art of Murder isn’t available yet (they’re delayed for 3 months after release) but once it is available, you can collect all the last ingredient and the storylet will appear.

Too true, but human beings are nothing if not self-contradictory. :-)

A more delightful dinner I couldn’t have asked for.

For what’s the sound of the world out there?
Those crunching noises pervading the air?
It’s man devouring man, my dear -
And who are we to deny it in here?

Being a good church going man, I believe that the powers of the essences Transubstantiated the human parts into divine ambrosia. That we are what we eat and what we eat are the hearts of our fallen gods. Let the reckoning be postponed for we will grow strong enough to bring that reckoning.
