I started playing this game last Hallowmas and am excited to participate in the event while actually knowing what’s going on… more-or-less
I must say that I do enjoy these new menace reduction items with Hallowmas!
Equip your tracklayer’s helmet, and it might save you from a bad hit during a bumpy, or less savoury ride in your train!
Or go out and parade with your modish bonnet, barrel vest, stockinga of dubious origins and a censored census, and… Oh my!

Is it possible to have a better resolution image of the upgraded Verity ( something like the promo image of her exceptional story https://www.failbettergames.com/assets/images/uploads/entries/2022/10/_1712x2226_fit_center-center_98_none_ns/devilesscollector_promo.jpg)?
I would like to use her as a player portrait for my run in Baldur’s Gate/PoE games, if is it possible.

Are any of the potential Spirit of Hallowmas rewards particularly good for turning into scrip?
The best option seems to be the one that pays out in Vital Intelligence and Cellars of Wine. The Intelligence can be sold as Scrip directly. As far as I can tell, nothing else has a better conversion pathway than brass lollipops.
Although if you have moral objections to them (as I do), the Wine can be upconverted to Airag, exchanged for Crackling Devices, and turned into Scrip-valued goods in the Rat Market. This retains about 81% of their original value. And despite the absurd complexity it takes very few actions if you’re already headed in various directions for other business.
On the weekend of November 10th, the Rat Market will begin accepting Night-Whispers. If that weekend happens to be a 
Diamond Week , the timing works out that you’ll have forewarning to claim Night-Whispers as your Spirit rewards.

Well, devices can be used on the Market too and I think cellar to Airag isn’t that efficient. This means NWs will be best way to get scrip IF you don’t need it fast. I remember there was a big pause between first and second NW-Diamond weekends.
I’m enjoying not having to fiddle around so much with clothing items this year and like the new mechanic well enough. That said, I do miss the fail-safe of having a wounds-reduction item handy, having accidentally hit 8 while out partying, and off to the Boatman. I wish there was an easier way to get horsehead amulets; I clearly need to restock up now for that rare lapse in attention after the reduction item rework.
As with robm, I’m finding the infant mask comes up frequently enough to just flip it and party, rinse and repeat, with only a couple of favour-driven trips to the party in the rare case I hit max actions and no cards. The party takes an average of about 5 actions to max out (with woesel and lots of SA), so I think it is close to the efficiency of the Marigold route. I’ll certainly have enough unearthly fossils to last a lifetime after this.

I seem to have hit 8 by turning my scandal in. Not sure how that happened.
Oh, and with no way to return with scandal 5 as per the wiki. Had to take it all the way to 0.
The return at Scandal 5 thing is a card. I experienced it myself.
If it was an opportunity card, then I guess my luck was doubly bad for never drawing it.
How’s everyone getting on? I’m sitting on 1222 spirit, not sure where that puts me in the standings right now.
2317 here, I’m looking at upgrading my Knight of Hallowmas quality at least a few levels so every spare action goes to gaining Spirit.
I’ve got 1763 which I think is good but I’m starting to worry that I won’t get Knight of Hallowmas this year.
If you have 1250 spirit by Monday morning, you are on pace for Knight of Hallowmas. You have two weeks to get 2500, and we’re 5.5 days in.
I just broke 1400, will probably throttle back a bit over the weekend to take care of board meetings and such.

I have 2389.
Tomorrow I should be able to hit 2500 and to start accumulating extra points for Knight of Hallowmas. At this rate I could probably get around 15 levels of Knight, but I think I’ll stop before.
Currently at 4340 thanks to the Marigold Method, and on track for the goal of “about 7777”. Have been neglecting the weekly errands like board meetings and khanate reports, although I’m happily losing actions to sleep and occasionally just being busy so I know for a fact there are at least 3 people ahead of me at this point.

I can’t find my little spirit of Hallowmas icon, but I must say this event is a wonderful way to burn off my bottles of black wings absinthe. Now that I’ve run out of key items, it honestly feels faster than doing the actual masque carousals.

A slight bug (annoyance?) to report.
I was toiling away at the Spite masque to rack up my Scandal, on the last attempt it skipped 7 and jumped from 6 to 8 and I was immediately sent to the Exiles… more wasted actions and time, unfortunately.
I would imagine players would be super annoyed if that were to happen at the Triple Crown masque (Suspicion) and they go to prison because of that, and they wanted to maintain their prison-free record.
So please, hard cap at 7 Menace during the Hallowas masques, then exit to submit to the Fool’s Judgment for Spirit of Hallowmas. Rinse and repeat.
Good for you, I’m at 1.9k plus Spirit now. Just a little more to the magical 2.5k Spirit. But currently in Exile as my Scandal hit 8.
I haven’t redeemed any companions yet though, will do it this week.
