Forum Questions -- Subscriptions and Images

I’m a newbie (only been playing about 2-3 weeks now), and although I’ve been searching online for answers to questions, that hasn’t panned out all the time, so I’ve posted a couple of questions here on the forum, which brings me to my two questions:

(1) I can’t figure out how to subscribe to a topic/see if my questions have been answered. The FAQ (https://community.failbettergames.com/faq.aspx#f81) says:

How do I subscribe to specific forums or topics?
To subscribe to a specific forum, click the &quotwatch this forum for new topics&quot link upon entering the forum. To subscribe to a topic, reply to the topic with the subscribe checkbox checked or click the &quotwatch this topic for replies&quot link within the topic itself.Top

How do I remove my subscriptions?
–To remove your subscriptions, go to your profile (by clicking your username on the top) and click &quotMy subscriptions&quot

Which is all well and good, except…at least in my version of the forum (viewed on Firefox/Windows 10), there is no &quotwatch this forum for new topics&quot link, no &quotsubscribe&quot check boxes anywhere (I tried &quotreplying&quot to messages in about 3-4 different topics, and never found any &quotsubscribe&quot check boxes), and my profile doesn’t contain a &quotMy Subscriptions&quot link. Are these things hidden somewhere?

(2) I’ve seen people embed screenshots/images in their posts, and can’t figure out a way to do it. I’m a frequent poster on the Board Game Geek forums, which have a similar interface, and there inserting images is easy; in fact you can upload them directly from your desktop. This interface apparently requires some sort of HTML link, but these are the results I get when using the link I obtained from Google Drive, using the following forum interface buttons:

&quotHyperlink,&quot.
<a href=&quot&quot>

(This actually seemed the most promising – in the &quotpreview&quot version of the post I could actually see the image. But when I hit &quotAdd Message&quot (post/send/finalize, etc.), all I got was the text above.)

&quotImage,&quot

&quotHTML&quot (i.e., I actually switched to HTML mode and inserted the following code. It just comes back as text, though:)
<iframe src=&quothttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1b4FwQTp6XejS8E5EO28oMq2QOuQUHqyq/preview&quot width=&quot640&quot height=&quot480&quot></iframe>

Does anybody have any tips for inserting an image stored on Google Drive?

Thank you!

Hello and welcome!

(1) Subscriptions to fora and topics aren’t enabled here, I’m afraid. To see when a topic gets replies, it’s easiest to use the &quotRecent Topics&quot or &quotRecent Posts&quot pages.

(2) To post an image, it has to be hosted somewhere where you can access the image link directly - i.e., the link ends in the image’s file format (.png, .gif, etc.) Imgur offers free image hosting if you need somewhere to upload things to!

That link isn’t an image, it’s a web page that shows an image, a button I can click to view the image in Google Drive (isn’t that what I was doing? Whatever, Google.), and who knows what else.
