I’m a newbie (only been playing about 2-3 weeks now), and although I’ve been searching online for answers to questions, that hasn’t panned out all the time, so I’ve posted a couple of questions here on the forum, which brings me to my two questions:
(1) I can’t figure out how to subscribe to a topic/see if my questions have been answered. The FAQ (https://community.failbettergames.com/faq.aspx#f81) says:
How do I subscribe to specific forums or topics?
–To subscribe to a specific forum, click the "watch this forum for new topics" link upon entering the forum. To subscribe to a topic, reply to the topic with the subscribe checkbox checked or click the "watch this topic for replies" link within the topic itself.Top
How do I remove my subscriptions?
–To remove your subscriptions, go to your profile (by clicking your username on the top) and click "My subscriptions"
Which is all well and good, except…at least in my version of the forum (viewed on Firefox/Windows 10), there is no "watch this forum for new topics" link, no "subscribe" check boxes anywhere (I tried "replying" to messages in about 3-4 different topics, and never found any "subscribe" check boxes), and my profile doesn’t contain a "My Subscriptions" link. Are these things hidden somewhere?
(2) I’ve seen people embed screenshots/images in their posts, and can’t figure out a way to do it. I’m a frequent poster on the Board Game Geek forums, which have a similar interface, and there inserting images is easy; in fact you can upload them directly from your desktop. This interface apparently requires some sort of HTML link, but these are the results I get when using the link I obtained from Google Drive, using the following forum interface buttons:
"Hyperlink,".…
<a href="">
(This actually seemed the most promising – in the "preview" version of the post I could actually see the image. But when I hit "Add Message" (post/send/finalize, etc.), all I got was the text above.)
"Image,"
"HTML" (i.e., I actually switched to HTML mode and inserted the following code. It just comes back as text, though:)
<iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1b4FwQTp6XejS8E5EO28oMq2QOuQUHqyq/preview" width="640" height="480"></iframe>
Does anybody have any tips for inserting an image stored on Google Drive?
Thank you!
