Nothing so drastic. Basically, it’s a way to transfer Making Waves (which you don’t need unless you’re a POSI) to someone else. It costs you a free evening (and the Waves, of course), but you get a Confident Smile out of it, as well as some improvement to Wounds and Suspicion.
The only concerns you might have are role-playing. Do you have objections to flattering another character? Does the fact that nobody knows exactly what species the steamed kidneys derive from disturb you? If the answers to those questions are no, or if you’re willing to overlook a yes, then enjoy your time at the Grill.

Flattery is no issue for my character. Currently she is wrestling with the moral dilemma of what to do at the University. My character has been courting disaster with intentional visits to places of menace and seeking Mr Eaten’s name (only to back out when I realised my stats and progress made it unviable).
This is probably wise. Seeking Mr. Eaten’s name quite literally destroys your character, and is generally reserved either for characters so advanced the player sees nothing further to do with them in London, or for alternate characters specifically created for the purpose. Seeking the Name with a beloved character still in the prime of life is not recommended.

I have asked you to meet me at Caligula’s, and if you want to invite me to dinner I’ll accept. (Host gets more waves.) However, given that you’re only needing to go up 67 CP or so, your best bet is probably side-converting third-tier items in your inventory. For maximum results, up-convert Romantic Notions into Visions of the Surface (+2 CP), then start side-converting from there. Because of an irregularity in the conversion pattern, you have two wave-making conversions close to one another at this point in the cycle: Visions into Mysteries and Gossip into Memories. (All side-conversions give a variable 1-10 CP). If you’re only looking for waves and you have a sizable stash of Romantic Notions, don’t convert past Absinthe; there’s a desert of four waveless conversions before you get back to Visions and can start the cycle again.
If you’re extremely devoted to the Notability grind, you could spend your time between getting enough Notability and Time’s visitations stockpiling Honey and/or going through the conversions to turn your Absinthe back into Visions.

Tomorrow is time the healer for me. So I need 14 making waves so I don’t drop in notability.
I gathered that much. I am mostly confused by the missing word in "I just went 1 point of notability." I originally read it as "up," but that leaves you with enough Waves to maintain Notability, leading to my question. Perhaps the missing word was "down"?
I was Notability 5. I increase it at 6. I believe at time the healer the making waves it halves and if it is lower than notability then the notability will decrease as well. So I need to increase my making waves to 12 or 14 so this will not happen.
You only need Making Waves 6, then. It checks Making Waves before halving them, not after. Looks like you’re good. :)

I got stats around 55, just need some sudden insights at the moment for the heart’s desire, but I’m open to pretty much anything.
I’m not sure how much direct contact you have with your friends in this game… but I do enjoy some use of elegant speech, as far as I’m able. English is my second language, though it has turned into some kind of a hobby at this point. If anything I hate overdoing these things, but If you are like me and would not mind spending just a dab of effort on our correspondence (no pun intended), then you’re a person after my own heart!
