A couple people on the forum did suggest the idea of the Soul Trade doing so; maybe there’s where you got the impression?
Probably. Do you have any advice for the storyline?
Hm, It’s been so long since I’ve done either side that I forget exactly what happens at each step. Just be sure to check the four starting locations (Veilgarden, Ladybones, Spite, Watchmaker’s Hill) and possibly your Lodgings. If you don’t find any storylets there pertaining to the storyline then you’re waiting on a card. The Labyrinth of Tigers, Forgotten Quarter, Mahogany Hall, and Wilmot’s End are good places to draw cards since these locations don’t have any location specific cards to clutter your deck while you’re waiting to progress.
Thanks. Waiting for card is okay for me. I tend to play through the cards, and play frequently.
@the truthskeer I didn’t see your previous post. My only expectation was beaing able to reap the hotel and delve into the bookshop owners business. Bookshop was my first lodging and I have wanted to be nosy for so long. But my character is more of immoral. thus my path is already chosen.
I am all set for christmas. By waiting for the card, I meant the soul trade card. I lost my soul a long time ago by playing around with devils. and I am really happy being soulles.

Saving another post, I was wondering about the shiny blue Knobs of Scintillack I got from Flint recently. For the sake of posturing, if it’s not used in any upcoming Exceptional Adventures, has anybody found any previous/current use for it? (Spoiler tag if necessary.) The same question is for the Moves in the Great Game I got at Hallowmas?[/quote]
There’s no use for those items as yet AFAIK. Ditto for Royal Blue Feather, Element of Dawn and various other things introduced recently.
I was in the Rob a Drunk page. I was going through reflexes, and clicking, trying to farm healing tonic (Working on getting dangerous animals for Mr. Inch)… After the Airs changed, the choice was replaced with the Fate choice, Rob a Spirifer. I clicked it and it gave me three choices. Since I clicked it, I spent the Fate already, so there is no use backing out…
From the three choices, do any of them get me anything unique? You don’t need to spoil what it is. I just don’t want to spend the Fate for common items through the wrong choice, if I can get something special.
EDIT: I went for it. The third choice gives lore and loops you back to the menu. The first choice gives some nice text and some common items, along with some Connected Devils. The text implies that the second choice also get a slightly rarer, but still common, item, and probably no Connected.

I’m going to have a rummage in this thread, but if anyone sees this first, can you give me your opinions on the Fate locked branch on the Confronting the Wilting Dandy card? I didn’t expect it and now I’m locked on the card. I usually like chance to prevaricate a little longer on these things :) No need for spoilers, only if you would recommend trying it.

To be slightly spoilery, the option involves deceiving Mr. Pages if that affects your decision.

Thank-you! Deceitful, but with a soft spot for well-dressed fops, sounds like me :) I’ll echo the texts if anyone else reading is interested :)
Plagiarizing Wilde to trick a blue-penciled Space bat! Worth it! :D Also lovely carnations, wine and connected Masters

Do NOT spend $20 to get the boneless consort. There is a penalty that is extremely severe. Can’t explain what it is since the powers that be would rather people not know - for obvious reasons. Trust me you’ll regret spending the cash. There are better ways to spend 100 fate

I don’t think the penalty is that bad. I don’t regret getting a Boneless Consort for Delmar at all. A bit on the steep side in terms of money, sure, but the non-monetary cost isn’t terrible enough to negate the benefits of getting a +3 Bizarre spouse. You can regain what you’ve lost afterwards (and that particular connection is very easy to get back).

perhaps I spoke too soon. Will reserve judgement.
What do you mean “penalty”? I have the Boneless Consort and i can’t recall being penalised in any way for that. Or are you referring to “Promenade in public” action?
If I recall correctly (it’s been a while) you get sent to the Tomb-Colonies and lose all your Society connection.
I consider the card to be a penalty as well, unless you want scandal for some reason. The one rewarding action has a nice nominal return, but farming the stuff you need for the action is pretty inefficient.
"Even the odds in a clay dispute"
Is this fate story worth the 5 fate it costs? Does it have any special items? Interesting story? Anything?
well, the story was good, but it seems like everything finished in that 1 action? no special qualities so I guess that’s it, doesn’t seem worth it then since the story wasn’t the best one either, it alos gave a small material reward but nothing you can’t get in a few actions, I echoed the story but even through echoing fate-locked content is allowed it I think it wouldn’t be fair to show this.
Boneless Consort information to end all other Boneless Consort information
It only costs 20 Fate (at no additional cost), but it costs 100 Fate to get your own enhancement. It removes your Connected: Society quality and sets your scandal at 10, but doesn’t automove you to the tomb colonies.
Loosing 100+ connection was upsetting until I had an evening with the Duchess who made enough introductions that they are overlooking my special friend.
I never realized how easily society is gained
