Fancy, de Quincy

I don’t know how much that gentleman got paid for his contribution to the study of the world of opium hallucinations - and it was a study, not mere narcomania - but it surely was more than what we get out of trying to write about dreams. The investment of time and effort is significant, compensation is almost nothing - oddities, thank you very much - and there is no fame or impression or advancement of understanding of honey. Even the meager rewards one can originally enjoy - a vision here, some bonus honey there - no longer apply after a while. Frankly, what gives?
