Fallen London - The Next Two Months

What’s coming next after Firmament, and what else we have hidden in our Master’s Robes for 2026? We have some big plans progressing and plenty of surprises and features in the works, but we’re not ready to give too much detail just yet. I do, however, have Ministry permission to share with you some delightful happenings in Fallen London that will be arriving in the next month or two!

Hallowmas

Look out for our annual feast of masks and confessions, which will arrive on Monday 19th October. Sinners can expect new Companions to join the revelry as well as fan favourites from Hallowmas’ past, as well as some new equipment. In addition, we’ve been listening to your feedback and are introducing some small quality of life improvements for 2026, as well as all-new cameo frames to beautify (or creepify) your profiles, and new adjectives and terms of address for your characters.

A Farewell to Firmament

Veteran players have already concluded the epic Firmament storyline, in which the player commandeers their own airship and travels to the Roof to stand against an existential threat to the entire Neath – alongside a motley crew of bold compatriots. We have one final farewell for you on Tuesday 10th November, when we will release a short epilogue chapter. This will feature a proper goodbye to some of your travelling companions, alongside a final location to explore on the Roof map.

Second-City Deliveries

We hope you’ve enjoyed playing go-between for the Duchess and the Roseate Queen, and exploring the history behind the sisters of the Second City. We’re adding two more sisters to the pool on Wednesday 18th November, unlocking this unusual courier work – and a few secrets – between the whole royal network.

Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game

Eager readers of Magpie’s Kickstarter updates will have seen that the core book has gone to print! We’re still working through the Guide to London supplement, which will follow its big sibling to the printer’s after another round of feedback from you. Watch out for updates from Magpie!

A Roadmap for 2027

In late November, we’ll be back with a full roadmap for the coming months, including news on our next major expansion. We’ll be changing up the design from the familiar location/chapter structure as used in the Railway, Evolution and Firmament, but you can still expect big, bold story and gameplay additions to our dark and delicious world.

Oooooooh! Next expansion planned already? And not a location/chapter structure? Picture me curious!

Also nice to see the expansion of the Sisters’ game of “I want to check on you but not actually talk to you.”

New about a new expansion… when will I empty my backlog?

I wasn’t expecting anything anytime soon, but I am darn curious now! We are talking about Aestival, riiight? :heartfl:

I’m excited to see more of the sisters! I know she probably won’t be included, given she’s from an Exceptional Story, but I’d love it if the Swan Bride could be included.

I would love to get a changelog from Magpie on what feedback exactly they acted on. Did they add any actual character progression mechanics? Do they actually say what Monstrous Anatomy does in the book, now? The preview was so thin on actual game material and rules, it’s not worth spending money on when you’d have the same experience doing a play by post game with the wiki open.

A piece of unreleased Deliveries narrative was briefly visible in-game. The new Sisters are the Poisoned Priestess (Swan Bride) and the Adoratrice. Being Fate-locked shouldn’t be an impediment, the Sisters are an established part of the setting. The Adoratrice was only known from an ES for years until she was added into the game as part of Parabolan Warfare.

Very happy to have an addition to the Second-city deliveries, and I like the sound of the next big expansion being something different from location/chapter format; I’ve really enjoyed the new regions, but I feel like maybe things have expanded outwards enough for the moment and it’s time to do something big within the spaces we’ve got. I hope it’ll involve spending some time in the Railroad and Firmament locations as well as in London proper, for them to continue feeling integrated into the main setting rather than just one-time storylines. Though of course that complicates things for who can access them when.
