Fallen London Roadmap: July - Nov '25

Hello delicious friends! We are back, brimming with plans and sweltering in the unseasonable UK heat. But the sun can’t stop us; it’s time to talk about the upcoming attractions in Fallen London.

Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game

If you backed Fallen London: The Roleplaying Game, you should receive your Backerkit link by the end of June. You’ll need to complete that so the Magpie team have all the information they need to fulfill your pledges. Once all of the Backerkit admin is taken care of, we’ll make all of the required Benthic Kriegsspiels and Sulliers of Probability, and send them to Magpie for distribution! Exciting!

Beyond that, work continues on the actual game and book; follow the Kickstarter updates for the latest on that.

Firmament Chapter 6

It is quiet here. No settlements; no voices. Just rock – and an incredible quantity of bone. Somewhere above, an iron-gated cave leads into the catacombs: a mausoleum-labyrinth that extends high, high above into the skin of the Roof.

With Chapter Five released and the question of Burgundian succession settled, it is time to turn our attention to the east – and look to the Sous. There are threats yet unvanquished, and questions unanswered. Will you find solutions among the dead?

Firmament is Fallen London’s currently-ongoing major story, free to all players. It can be started after reaching Ealing Gardens through the Railway storyline, and begins from an opportunity card in London.

We expect to release this in late August, with Chapter 7 to follow later in the year, around the time of our next roadmap. Chapter 7 will not be the end of the journey, and we’ll have more news on the final stretch of the storyline come November.

Estival

We’re hard at work on this year’s Estival, which will begin on Monday July 28th, and will end when you’re finished with it. As always, we don’t want to say too much about it in advance and ruin the surprise. I can say this: it’s strange, it’s very different from previous years, and working on it has been a Hell of a lot of fun.

Agents

We’re extremely pleased with the reception of the Agents feature! Thank you to all of our beta testers, and for all your feedback since launch. We’ve made a number of improvements to the feature since release, but now that the dust has settled it’s time to expand your network into realms beyond the nautical.

In the near future we’re planning to release two new Concerns, each with their own new Plots and Agents. Each of these Concerns will focus on a different aspect of your character’s Machiavellian scheming, and will involve you sending new Agents to conduct your work (dirty and otherwise) equipped with a different range of skills and equipment.

We expect the first of these Concerns to launch in August, with a second following in October.

More Candlefinder Mysteries

It turns out there are a great many perplexing ways to commit a crime in the Fifth City. Missing lovers, murdered puppets, locked-room thefts and urchin wars; the detectives of the Candlefinder Society have not run out of work yet, and crime continues apace.

We’re very glad to see people continuing to enjoy the Candlefinder mysteries, and we’ve got more in the hopper! Between now and the end of October we expect to release three more mysteries, with the first coming in August.

Fruits of the Zee

The yearly Mutton Island festival returns once again. We expect Fruits of the Zee to run for two weeks, from 4th September until 18th September.

Like past festivals, this event is free to all players. Go wreck-diving in the shoals around Mutton Island. Retrieve strange treasures from the bottom of the Unterzee. Meet the King-in-Coral who presides over the festivities.

New this year: more items to collect during wreck-diving, and a new premium expansion to zailing.

Journal Improvements

In last year’s player feedback survey, the biggest point of feedback – by a large margin! – was centred around the Journal feature. We’ve addressed a few other points already – more outfit slots, and an extra Perhaps Not button at the top of the page – but we’re not done yet, not by a long shot. The first big change on the list is an expanded and revised Journal page.

It’s too early to say exactly what this will look like, but rest assured: your existing Journal contents will be safe throughout. We expect to release this feature in late September. We’ve also got a smattering of other tweaks and improvements planned, all related to the survey feedback. We’ll release these smaller changes throughout the next few months, as and when they are ready.

Hallowmas

In the weeks around Halloween, the Feast of Masks will return to Fallen London. Select a mask! Attend secretive balls around London. Speak with the Fool’s Apostate, and trade your Menaces for seasonal rewards. Collect confessions from London’s sinners, trade them with your friends, and confer with the Attendants to transform and upgrade your companions.

…and more!

That takes us through to November, when we’ll be gearing up for Christmas. Expect another roadmap then, with more details about the end of the year and our plans for Fallen London going into 2026.
