Fallen London Reworks: Home Comforts and Transport

Extraordinary Drinks Cabinet and Terrifying Weathercock also give +6 to their respective stats.

Does anyone know if the sacksmas objects are going to be boosted in a similar manner to the rest? Or affiliations for that matter?

My Sacksmas home comforts now give +3 to their respective stats (up from +1) in addition to the usual +1 BDR.

Now that the rework has been implemented, I would say this: this benefits those who had been forking out Fate more than those who had not.
P.S. At least the irrigo-infused shrine has had a huge buff though.

Oh, wow! I’m SO happy! Just a couple days ago, I got to 19 SOtC with 268 plus a mood (didn’t have items or time to go to 20), but I know I see that I’m at 270 today! Is that from the Library gaining 2? Oh wow–joy! It’s not like it made it that much easier–I still need my Overgoat, but now I don’t need an Ubergoat! I’ve got another mood card saved, gotta get my items stockpiled, etc, and 21 here I come!

ETA: no–I guess library was always 3. How’d I get 2 extra watchful points?

Library was 1 before. You were right.

Ah, thanks! Whoever edited the Brief Guide to CF did it FAST! Woot woot! I feel a little sorry for those who did it before me with the old rules, but I did spend months getting my Overgoat. This just meant I didn’t need two. I missed out on the boots at the last election and have to use the stocking for 3 footwear.

Foreign Office Item:

The very pretty Tapestry from the Elder Continent now gives +5 Persuasive, up from the +1 it was previously. Score!

All attribute boni for home comforts have been multiplied by 3 whether the item was fate-locked or not. I think that’s pretty fair.
The only exception are the items from the ending of the fate-locked Foreign Office extension whose bonus has been multiplied by 5. I think that’s fair, too, because before they had been little more but mementos with no actual use.

That being said, more free home comforts would be nice.

If I’m not mistaken, the buffs to the Thoroughly Cowed Pony and the Shrine to St. Joshua now mean that the hard cap for Renown: Criminals for players without the Shadowy exceptional specialization is now 49. I’m much more comfortable with being stuck at 49 than with being stuck at 47. Is that right? What about the cap for Dangerous connections like the Docks? Is that still at 47, or is there fate-locked equipment that can get you higher now?

My Foreign Office reward now gives +4 Shadowy, instead of the +5 that it had yesterday. Is this still in flux?

Apparently.

Well–I think I was wrong. To use the mood, I have to use it in place of the monocle, correct? So I do need an Ubergoat for an extra ten watchful. The Guide to Correspondence discusses getting to 270–but do you really need to get to 280? I’m thoroughly confused–

ETA: Yep–I see I missed that get 270 HATLESS part. Sigh…

Foreign office items - Does the Fate locked spouse will be part of the changes? Or only the Fate locked items will have their boosts?
Thank you =)

Doesn’t seem it. My original account married the Comfortable Intriguer and her stats are still just at plus 1s

Well, they did state that they will change Home Comforts and Transports. I don’t think that they ever mentioned Spouses.

But with Home Comforts and Transports out of the way, Spouses are that much closer to an update.

Spacemarine9 popped into the irc shortly after, and he did say he would like to get to spouses too. (No timeframe though, I would not expect it soon)

Shadowy should be capped at 50 now.
Cool as Ice (+30)
Ratskin Suit (+6)
Pair of Lenguals (+10)
What Might Be a Thunderbolt (+10)
The Place Where They Bury the Bodies (+10)
Laconic Prodigy (+10)
Gang of Hoodlums (+1)
Thoroughly Cowed Pony (+6)
Shrine to Saint Joshua (+9)
Espoused To (+1)
The Young Stags’ Club (+1)
for a total of exactly 94.

Dangerous is possible to get Renown 50 (294 in the stat) without specializing, but it requires doing a certain thing in Flint and having an appropriate Destiny (or doing Flint more than once).

Persuasive is now the only one that requires a specialization to hit +94.

That is the message that I want to convey with my previous post. Before I made my previous post, I was already aware of the changes in the stat bonuses - I have no issues with those.

What I had an issue with is that there are a hell lot more transports and home comforts for Fate-paying players, so they are benefiting more from this rework.
