Who is she?
I know a lot of characters have real world historical counterparts, but if she does I can’t figure her out!!

In so far as I’m aware, she’s an original character. There are number of female scientists of the era that might be inspirations for her, but I can’t find any with the initials F. F. or the name Gebrandt. I don’t recall if we know if she took her husband’s family name when she married - she may not have, if her business was already established in her name.

That’s great in that Failbetter made a great character, but horrible news for me personally as I was wanting to learn more about her inspiration because I’ve found her becoming one of my favorite recurring characters haha!
