Eyeless Skull, and the Cave of Nadir in general

The Google document only shows 57 attempts with 26 of those being regular successes. Apparently NiteBrite consumed vast quantities of Bottled Oblivion some time ago, but perhaps those are the ones listed? I’ve thought of how a completely fresh character could start drinking Bottled Oblivion and keep buying new bottles by turning Tales of Terror into Extraordinary Implications through the Fidgeting Writer storylet. If someone were to do that it should eventually give some reliable data.
If all 34 people involved took turns receiving skulls, though it would still take eight and a half years for the entire clique to become truly immortal.
Yes, I was thinking that they’d need a good reason to focus their efforts on only one of them. Such as the search for a certain name. ;)

Well, there’s a storylet that gives guaranteed 1E/action even at 0 stats, so that’s another way to fuel that dangerous habit. :)

Oh, that one. I remember reading about it, but I didn’t care to participate when I went to have a look. Though, since then I have also read that one is quite safe until one has chosen a form. Good idea. Definitely the way to go. ~78 bottles every 100 Actions would be a lot better. :)

Hello there. Does anyone need an Eyeless Skull? I’ve uncovered two of those in my recent expedition and was at a loss about what to do with them - I’ve already got access to the Cave - until discovering that I can actually sell them for 62.5 Echo on Myself tab. Soooo, I’ve sold one of them but decided to ask whether anyone needs the other one?.. I’ll wait for a request for a few days and then sell it as well if no one else is interested. No payback is required, obviously.

I should say that you might want to keep those if you don’t have a certain cinder for when you enter the actual cave.

Thanks for the warning, but I meant that I’ve already entered the cave. In fact, I keep looting it for those lovely Bazaar Tears every month :)

Every month?

Btw, is there any need for skulls once the Cave is reached?

Not really any need for them, they can be sold for 62.5 echoes with a slight loss to connected revolutionaries. Or someone else can ask for one to get them into the Cave.

You can return to the Cave every week after Time the Healer calls, you will lose some stats dependent on how long you stay in there.

Every week, of course. …I should sleep more.

No need for more sleep … the Irrigo just makes you forget:)

It totally does:)

How do you get bazaar tears? I think I’ve completed the story and I have came back to the cave several times however I’ve never found any bazaar tears?

The cave is tricky as you only see a certain number of cards before having to leave. So you are probably just unlucky but the card is The Catafalque. One of the choices gives a pet, the other Tears of the Bazaar.

I have been searching for a skull for…weeks, now, in anticipation of doing the Nadir. My luck is just plain awful, it seems. While I continue to attempt to grind for a skull, does anyone have recommendations on the number of supplies needed for this expedition? I see that you can only go up to 100 easily. Should that be sufficient? [li]

(On a side note, if anyone has a skull they are willing to send me, my username is my profile as well, and I would be very appreciative.)

100 will definitely be sufficient. Second Chance items wouldn’t hurt either.

Hey Hattingmad, I just came across a skull that I don’t need. It’s yours if you still need it. I believe you have to send the request for the skull yourself via the Forgotten Quarter (I have never received one myself).

Yes, I’ll definitely take it if it’s available! Thank you very much. I have to get a few more supplies and will send the pertinent request shortly.

I must have the worst luck ever. I’ve been grinding in the Forgotten Quarter for close to three weeks, with not a single skull to show for it! Is it possible I’m doing something wrong?

You could have a really rotten Watchful that makes you fail the two challenges that can give an Eyeless Skull (&quotWander the Quarter&quot and &quotSee the sights&quot). Other than that it’s all up to luck. Or bad luck. If you have Sudden Insights you could perhaps use those, but they’d probably work better if you just spent them to raise Watchful with &quotEvery stone&quot in your lodgings.

Wynde - you are just unlucky. I recently did this with my alt, weeks of no skulls. Then 2 expeditions in a row got skulls, and then within three days I had seven … enough to get a Ray Drenched Cinder and still have skulls to get into the Cave of the Nadir.
