Embarassing: finally figured out outfits

Ideally, we’d be able to add four or five custom slots for whatever we choose. BDR is obviously the main reason people have to fiddle with equipment, but there are other things too: for instance, Dreaded allows you to move past a specific card during Heists with up to 100% reliability. That’s surprisingly useful in a pinch.[li]

[/li][li]Or having a &quotshow off&quot outfit of cool fun things, but not necessarily top-useful for any particular stat. Or an everyday outfit with balanced stats good enough for most usual tasks. Or a targeted outfit for, say, Mahogany Hall - with particular stats highlighted. Or… yes, I really like outfits, I suppose…

Or outfits for RP purposes that don’t have a specific mechanical purpose.

I think oh… about 12 outfit slots would suffice.

I’d be content with HALF of that.

6 of one, half dozen of the other and what not.

Mine are just in order with the stats down the left, I didn’t bother lining it up in any thematic way.

I could use a 5th to hold BDR.

I’d want a 6th that holds as much - stat as possible. I’d get my last few stat points that much easier if I could equip my rattus of chatter…

I’d be happy with a fifth “outfit” choice–a BDR outfit. Anything else other than that plus maxing costume choices to max a particular stat I prefer to select items on an ad hoc basis anyway.

I renamed my outfits to closely match the original names.

Will be great to unlock another outfit without using Fate e.g. doing a quest, maxing your stats etc.

An outfit dangerous in more ways than one, then…

But you can unlock up to two extra outfits without Fate investment, bringing the total to 6. You’ll have to advance substantially through the storyline though, to do it.

Didn’t know this, thanks for the tip. Those two outfits will probably be for maxing out Bizarre, Dreaded or Respectable. I know Dreaded might help with heists, not too sure about the other two.

You might begin to think six is not enough once you start using the new skills a lot, and also when you meet finicky buyers in the bone market who like it when you have Bizarre, Dreaded or Respectable, and others who won’t talk to you if you have them.

Ooh man. I completely forgot , while getting back into the game, about outfits. Oy. So many moving parts…

You know what I like to do with outfits? They come in handiest when my character faces a challenge that requires meeting checks in two different qualities (e.g., Watchful, Player of Chess). I adopt an outfit that meets the major stat, and search my inventory for all the items that assist with the secondary stat and equip them individually. Afterward, I just switch outfits, and the individual add-ons are gone. I can do it again with a whole different outfit and secondary stat next time.

Yes, you can raname the outfits! It’s the little pencil icon next to the save outfit icon in the top right.

You might wanna check the date on that post mate.

Huh. Yeah. …why is this showing as pinned? Is it just me? I have this near the top of the forums, next to the announcement threads and exceptional story threads. Maybe I’m the one that needs to learn about some UI feature that’s obvious to everyone else but not me.

Not just you. Confused me briefly too. Probably some mod accidentally hit a wrong button.

Me, it was me. But I blame lag.
