How do you do.
I am attempting to explore the water depths and seem to be unable to descend past the second iteration. I have seen the gilled cat, explored the upper floors and gone spear fishing. But the only other option appears to be to ascend. But I wish to go deeper.
Can any one advise me, please.

I believe you need to upgrade your diving bell to go all the way down. Have you done that yet? If you have it may be a glitch.
How do you upgrade the bell?
There should be an option in the Office of the Tracklayer’s Union storylet for that station, which if memory serves is the place where you build the bell in the first place. Bring some Hinterland Scrip.
Just been giving this a bit of a go myself, as I really need some Deep Zee Catches. Gah! That spear-fishing option almost never comes up, does it? Despite the RNG extending an olive branch this Christmas, I don’t think the two of us are ever going to be friends again.
