Crew: The untapped resource

So, a question. For the discerning, down-on-his/her luck captain who may need to kill/devour the occasional crew member to stay afloat, why do we leave dead crew behind? Every time a crew member dies, I think to myself &quotThat’s a bit of food and hunger I could be dealing with right now!&quot If there could be a way to store dead bodies (With appropriate levels of terror boosting, of course!) for the cannibal captain, that would add a wonderfully morbid touch. Thoughts?

On that note…Why not take that a step further? if Crew = Supplies, and Supplies = Fuel (Under desperate circumstances, of course), why can’t I just cut out the middle-man and toss them into the burner to make it the last leg to London? Perhaps a special training at an appropriate port, or a particular chef with…particularly loose morals? When I talk about this game to friends and families, a big selling point is the horrible fates given to the crew (Poor souls…) If I could genuinely throw them into the burner to make it home when I’m stalled out…That would be fantastic.

I haven’t played the game yet, but aren’t dead crew dead dead because they were eaten by zee monsters, or pulled down under the water where it would be too difficult to retrieve them? When people die in Fallen London they usually get better after a while, so if crew fall down dead on the deck and can be cared for, they should be able to come back to life.
