CHRISTMAS IN THE NEATH: A GUIDE

by speed do you mean action points?

Speed is if you want the item and want it now. it has likely inferior EpA, but you can get expeditions finished ever so much faster. if you want to get as many x as fast as possible, this is what it means. not EpA, but Actions per Item. This is strong backed labor.

Money is if you’re not in a huge rush- you don’t need that much of the item, or are mainly doing it for text. This is the slower options- docks without a previously extant stockpile, or whispers without a previous stockpile- though in that case you should do docks.

Get to 10, then use the pewter tankard. it’s pricey, but it speeds it up enough that it still has the best EpA of any non-card method of docks aquisition.

what is the pewter tankard?

I think most people here don’t realize you are asking for help as a character with very low early game stats.

The pewter tankard is an item sold in the pawnbrokers shop which converts glim into connected docks. Its good only in the late game when you have persuasive in the mid 90s and can farm an area known as mahogany hall for glim. To buy supplies using connected docks you also need a lot of rostygold which you get from being a PoSI (all stats above 100) and using the unfinished business option in watchmakers hill (dangerous 70+).

Since you are still very much in the early game Deatheye, and you only have two stats above 50 (with your best stat being watchful 62), you won’t really be able to do most of the things people here are suggesting as efficient. Efficient grinds don’t really come into play until you are a PoSI (100+ in all stats and completing storyline on becoming a PoSI are required). For now, I would say play stories and see if any of them pay you a decent amount whispered secrets. Whispered secrets are pretty efficient to use for supplies until your stats are better. When your stats are below 70, I believe the max amount of items you can earn from a normal storyline is equal to your relevant stat divided by 100. For example a person with stats 50 should be able to get about 0.50 echos worth of items from the stories available to them.

The pewter tankard is a good item, but unless you have a huge pile of glim and rostygold on hand already it’s probably not worth buying now until you have leveled up a bit more. Consider taking on a patron to level up quickly.

speaking of glim whats a good way to get about 200 of it? and I should probably put in my description im a noob with 50 stats in everything

oh and nitebrite how important is connected masters of the bazzar cause I can chose to give mr sacks a bottle for connected masters of the bazzars and some TOL or just gime vim a love story for TOL

Connected the masters isn’t super important, but it is hard to come by. It’s main use is you need it at level 3 to buy the five card lodging known as the Spire Emporium. The spire is always on a super sale during the sacksmas holidays, but its out of your reach for now as it requires notability which is a quality only PoSI can get. Basically, its a nice thing for the future, but you don’t really need it.

In terms of glim, here is a list of a few good glim sources: click here
Basically, in the early game you get glim by fighting in the rings in Watchmakers Hill using your dangerous stat. The higher your dangerous is, the more glim you can earn by fighting in higher level rings. Better glim sources open up as you level though, so take a look at the link above for more information (note, that wiki link has a lot of pictures, so its not very mobile phone friendly and might take a while to load).

oh and could you tell me of a good way to get dead rats for the tigres thing?
and a good way to farm whispered hints for me?

and one more thing I have yet to chouse my ambition what are they wich one should I get?

and what is the Game of Knife-and-Candle?

You’ll need your dangerous to be in the 60+ range before you seek the labyrinth of tigers, and really it is best experienced if your dangerous is in the 90s. But the best way to get into the labyrinth of tigers is to either use a card called the Ways of the Labyrinth of Tigers (unlocked with dangerous between 60 and 100) to go to the labyrinth of tigers and complete the quest line there which pays you enough rats to unlock the labyrinth permanently. The second best way is to complete the duels with the black ribbon society at the wolfstack docks and then go capture beasts for Mr Inch, which also pays out a lot of rats. Either way, I’d consider it something to wait on until your stats are a bit higher since you won’t be able to do much there until you have high stats anyways.

For Whispered Secrets, at your level you’ll probably get them from stories that challenge watchful in areas like ladybones road or the forgotten quarter, but picking specific ones is going to be tricky for me as there are a lot of stories that give these out. I suggest exploring the stories open to you and seeing what is best by trying them out. When you have persuasive in the 60-80s you can go to the Empress’s Court and grind secrets there using &quotattend to matters of romance&quot. When your dangerous is higher in a similar range and you have access to the labyrinth of tigers you can grind secrets there using &quotthe thing in the mirror&quot in the second coil of the labyrinth. The best secrets grind is when you are a PoSI and can get jade from Unfinished business in Watchmakers Hill then trade it with the tigerkeeper in the first coil of the labyrinth of tigers. But until then you are just going to have to explore a bit on your own in the watchful areas since there isn’t really anything optimal until later in the game for you.

Edit: these questions are getting off-topic for the christmas guide. They would probably be better to ask in the Young Turks thread, aka the new player help guild.

So about the Fate locked stories in the 12 days of Mr Sacks’ visit: How much Fate do I have to spend in total to investigate the Lacre with the Duchess?

I know one of the branches cost 7 Fate, but do all the branches cost 7? I’m only left with 19 Fate for the time and I’m looking to spend them effectively.

Investigating with the Duchess costs 12 Fate. See here for more information!

Like only 12? I mean say the day 6 of Mr Sack’s visit has a branch which continues the story. Won’t that cost Fate too or will it not?

Yes, just 12 fate total. You don’t have to pay more to finish the story.

Did anyone get Snowbound! today or yesterday after 12 GMT? Ergs didn’t get his snow now when TtH came.

My TTH hit an hour and a half ago and did not bring Snowbound!

Quite disapointed tbh, it means I only had the chance to clear my path twice, (and only once from TTH)
