Can't play on Linux

Not sure if this is the best place - please redirect me if not. I can’t get Sunless Sea to play at all, either DRM-free (from Humble) or via Steam, on Xubuntu 16.04. It crashes as soon as it loads. Has anyone got a way to make this work, or can you direct me to a place where I can actually get support for this?

EDIT: When I downloaded DRM-free the game does list required packages, but they’re no longer supported on 16.04. I tried various alternatives suggested online, and then went to Steam as a last-resort option.

You can get support at zubmariner@failbettergames.com.

It’s not zubmariner, but the original. I played on Windows a while back (at launch, having bought in early access) but stopped due to poor performance - having just switched to Linux I thought I’d give it another go.

I’ve emailed them anyway - would be good to actually find a way of playing the game at some point!
