Broad vs Narrow Difficulty

Hi there,

I am trying to figure out the advantages/disadvantages of Broad vs Narrow Difficulty. I understand the basic differences between the two, but that’s as far as my mathematically challenged brain can get. I am hoping someone will be willing to provide some examples of Broad versus Narrow, with different combinations of the difficulty scaler and the difficulty modifier, and how those variations affect game play. Personal experiences are most appreciated!

(And if this has been discussed elsewhere already and I just missed it, please to point me towards that discussion)

An advantage with Broad is that things are still challenging when high-level, and you don’t need to be within a certain level range to attempt something. The latter can be found very nice in ambitions, as you can try that 33% challenge and still have a chance, rather than going for 10% or 100% all the time.
