I have been away from gloomy London for 6 months, at the very least, and I need assistance in recovering my footing, and understanding what has changed in my absence.
It seems there is something going on with a prison in the Elder Continent: is it worth my time?
Have new routes in the zee been found? Is the club finally ready to mount an expedition north?
How has the economy changed in these months, if at all?
Can we finally complete our Ambitions?
Has new opportunities presented themselves in London?
When I left the search of the Name had been interrupted … is the way to madness open again?
I than profusely for any small morsels of information you could see fit to provide me.
The Prison on the Elder Continent is an Exceptional Story named The Flint. If you have access to it, that means you bought it so you should probably take advantage. It’s quite good, and twice as long as the regular Exceptional Stories.
No "normal" Zee routes. A few Exceptional Stories involve Zailing. Also NORTH.
The biggest economic change is the conversion of Connected qualities to the Favors & Renown system. This is still ongoing, only some factions have been converted. There are plenty of threads on the forum if you do a search. The short version is: Favors are transactional, meant to be spent fairly quickly, and capped at 7, and mostly obtained through Opportunity Cards. Renown represents your long-term standing with a faction, can only ever increase, and is mostly increased by using Favors for that purpose (instead of more lucrative rewards). Many actions that required Connected now are either gated by Renown, or consume a Favor, or both. Also higher Renown values with each faction unlock unique pieces of equipment.
Ambitions: nope.
There’s not a ton of new free permanent content available. Several festivals have gone through overhauls, which is probably the majority of new free content added over the last year (with one exception). They added a new Festival, the Election, and as a result we have a new Mayor.
The exception is the one other piece of free content released: Seeking is back. Without giving away too much, it is now possible to end the game.
