Artisan of the Red Science raise desperately sought!

Hello everyone! Over time I have acquired a number of items which raise my ARS, but for some reason my base in this Advanced Skill is still 0! (And I chose to become a Crimson Engineer :face_with_peeking_eye:…)
Any tips for raising this quality? I am currently a PoSI - still only a “Significant Individual”. My stats are not high enough to pursue any specialization yet. Can anyone help?

There’s a bunch of experiments that incidentally raise AotRS in the laboratory.

If you have access to the bone market and have a device for duplication of bones and a counterfeit head of john the baptist, then you can duplicate those heads to get AotRS. Or duplicating your own skull works too.

You’ll get a few points for progressing the Railway, as well as there’s a monograph option at Moulin that raises it.

Overall it seems that laboratory, bone market, and railway are the places to look.

I believe the first base point of Red Science can only come during the opening scenes of the Railway. There are several incidental ways to raise it, but FBG clamped down on them a while back so they can only raise it if you already a little to begin with. If it is indeed gated by the Railway, then you’ll need to raise Watchful to 200 as well as have a POSI specialization in order to pursue it.

Thank you for these detailed suggestions!

Thank you! I also got the impression that most options to raise it presuppose that you already have it…! Which makes it difficult and somewhat paradoxical. Is this something peculiar to ARS? If yes, why?

No, it’s common to a few other Advanced Skills.

Then I guess I was just lucky to have some of my other Advanced Skills raised - without really planning for that to happen… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

the “storylines” foe advanced skills aren’t quite*
as guided as MYN for the main 4, but they still generally want you to at least start out in the right place

Wow, thanks. So you think they’re like “looser” storylines? Not as structured?
