Another Update on Outfits

Well, this is frankly awesome and you are totally setting the bar very, very high there :+))) Thanks for listening to feedback!

Very happy to see this reversal, and without the dismissive “corporate PR” tone as well. Being able to open the sidebar (on mobile) and change outfits is actually useful now, and feels very satisfying!

Thank you for listening to our concerns. I still don’t think “strategic” equipment management sounds fun, but I’m glad to know that you’re only planning on applying it to areas where you’ve specifically verified are appropriate.

Thank you very much.

Thank you, Failbetter. I’m excited to play my saved Exceptional Stories.

Thank you so much! This is awesome and more than I’d hoped for :)

Thanks for listening and (partially) reconsider.

BTW I must admit I am not a fan of having Arbor locked, seem a bit off you could change city with just attar, but the Roseate Queen prohibit to change your… jacket.

It does seem like dreams would be a place of fluidity lol.

Thank you. For this good response and for the coffee. Take care.

Thank you!

Thank you, glad to see you are listening!

I can’t believe how convenient playing repeatable storylets has now become with the ability to change outfits from the main page!

Hello! Just want to say - I’ve been collating feedback from here (the forum, not like, just this thread) as well as a whole bunch of tickets. Many have been very detailed, some have been, ah, a bit cross :(, some were incredibly generous spirited considering how unhappy the changes clearly made the sender/poster - but all have been very useful. I’m getting a condensed version for the team. The initial influx meant we knew we had to make changes, but there’s still stuff in there that tells us about how people play the game, what things they love, what they loathe, and interesting suggestions. So - thank you.

I just didn’t want the roll back to happen and people wonder whether their comments otherwise went into a void. There is no void, there is only me, and sometimes when you stare at me I look back? … I am tired this morning. Um.

@babelfishwars I’m happy to hear, that there is something positive about all this and that you’re able to draw some input out of the reactions, besides the “undo this mess, or I’ll quit” some have posted here. :)

Keep on working on the game. The community may sometimes a little bit moody but all in all they appreciate your work. ;)

Btw, speaking about interesting suggestions: What about inviting some of the players to a (public) beta server? You don’t have to show there everything you’re working on. But some changes, especially if they affect the whole gameplay, could be presented to a smaller public outside the team(!) to get some feedback before it goes live. This won’t be a universal solution (of course not), but it may help.

Thank you. I honestly do think the idea of making equipment more strategic is an interesting one, so I do look forward to seeing what happens in the future. It’s good to know we’re heard.

In that vein, I’d just like to mention that I’ve been appreciating the updates to the Patch Notes thread, when they happen. (hint hint) ;-)

I hope the team is able to avoid becoming disheartened by the crossness that some have let get the better of them.

Also, thanks especially to support for quickly and cheerfully fixing a minor bug in the new content and providing a cogent explanation amongst what must have been a large volume of tickets.

Thanks for this, and I just wanted to say also, I’m really actively looking forward to seeing the outfit locking mechanism in all its glory once the new approach has been fully sorted out to avoid some of the concerning problems, I think it could be really awesome if done carefully! And in the meantime, I am very much enjoying the quick-change menu and the quality sorting feature, too.

I appreciate that after a system you designed with solid intentions was soundly disliked you thought on it, accepted criticism, and owned your mistake. It’s a hard thing to accept, especially as designers putting your ideas out in the world.

The outfit sort and extras are great, and I look forward to iteration on stats and gear that adds new elements to the game without being a pain to use.
Thank you for all your feedback. In response to it, we have rolled back several of the restrictions on outfit changes.
Thank you for this! Coincidentally, I left when the changes were implemented last week and it was such a nice surprise to see them reverted!
Thank you very much.

Please implement multi-stat challenges. These can meet the goals that Flyte mentioned.
Well, wasn’t expecting to be one of the first few comments, but this is what we actually need!

I’m too freakish busy on the Surface, have an enormous backlog, bucket load of unexplored content and having to check wiki before every action is cumbersome.

Let me just adjust it when/if needed. :)

I really love Fallen London. Thank you for making this change.
