A Seeker's Will

Is there a way to shed my character’s riches in a way someone will benefit from it? Any non-harmful item (Eyeless Skulls don’t count) that can be sent, gifted or stolen somehow? I assumed to stroll in the Knife and Candle leagues to be robbed blind of relative items, but the season is apparently closed?

I also have 16 Fate left. Any way to grant someone a benefit other than Fate-drawing the Gift card?

The Knife and Candle “season” has been closed for years. With Alexis Kennedy gone, I doubt anyone is interested in implementing new mechanics for it. FBG is really down on complex multi-step social actions these days.

The new letter-writing mechanics are the only thing I can think of where you spend resources for the benefit of others, but you’re only spending single-digit echoes per action on those.

First City Coins can be gifted, 30 at a time, but there’s no way that I know of to convert other resources to them, and that’s still only 6 echoes.

This might be a really stupid suggestion since I’m not experienced as other players but… maybe you could sell everything that can’t be sent as the item itself and then use the Echoes to send people &quotThe gift of the unexpected&quot through the &quotGive a Gift! A commotion in the Square of Lofty Words&quot opportunity card? Not a very rapid method, given you have to wait for the card to pop up (or, since you have some spare fate left, you could possibly use it to repeatedly pull up the option in Your Social Engagements) but I can’t think of another way to go about it. At least it would be a possibly fun surprise since the gifts are random…?

Thank you for the heads-up! Letters are way better than nothing, especially now that I’m waiting the amanuensis to show them what’s what.

Indeed, that’s how I’ll spend my leftover Fate if no better option presents itself. Still, not nearly enough to squander all I’ve piled up :D For reference, I have 134 Skeleton Keys and an Ubergoat.

If only you could have the option to turn all of your assets into Fate… That would be useful for people like you who are resetting or leaving the game (or another reason, perhaps).

That would, unfortunately, mean that nothing with Fate actually requires real money anymore, because you could always just grind up items on an alt.

(I believe that’s also the reason you can’t transfer small amounts of fate. Because if you could, people could add up the single-digit amounts of Fate you can get from free sources by sending it from a bunch of alts to a main.)

Hmm, I do see your point. Easily taken advantage of.
