I have a green plant in my lodgings at the moment, I have currently Attending to the needs of a singular plant a 6. Is there any benefit for continuing to raise it?
Yes. If you continue to raise it, you will be able to participate in the Tournament of Lilies, which is a PvP opportunity. At higher levels, you’ll also be able to obtain secrets and counterfeit heads from your plant, which can be useful.
OOOOOH there is PvP!? What do i do to get to that? im aware of knife and candle, but didnt know it was PvP! cool!
It’s less fun than it sounds, but it has a few nice rewards.
Mostly the best reward from growing the plant is that once the plant is sufficiently well fed you will never see the plant cards again, where as getting rid of it will still let you see the card to start growing a new plant. Also the plant might be able to help you out if you get in a tight spot (only in one particular part of one particular ambition, but still)
Raise the quality ‘Attending to the Needs of a Singular Plant’ to 12 to gain access to the Tournament of Lilies.
Other ‘PVP’ options include chess and duels, available at home.

The Tournament of Lillies is basically like the Fidgeting Writer, only it requires social actions and the odds are slightly less in your favor.
Yeah, it’s a long road. Since plant level matters a little, I didn’t really start playing in the tournament until plant level 19.
It’s a really long accumulation of points, but hey, this game has a lot of things that you can slowly accumulate, that’s just how it works.
It’s not even that there’s anything particularly valuable if you win a tournament, just a unique item that has no use other than saying you won a tournament, really.
We’ve been writing a fair bit about these certain green plants in Sunless Skies recently…
I stopped feeding the plan when it asked for weasels and people. Away, vile weed!
I love my plant - using over 400 Heads that my plant grew me, I just got done raising my Death By Water dreams real high. Benefit is in the eye of the beholder, I guess is my point - you can turn most of the random stuff in this game into fun!
Also, the plant is probably sentient and maybe an agent of the things-behind-the-glass, so it’s basically a vital conversation starter for every respectable Londoner’s parlour.
If anyone doesn’t want to plant anymore (at all), get it to 19 and try to win a tournament, don’t cash in the reward, get it back to 19 if it’s not still there and you’re done!
Never will you see a plant card, nor a battle request!
